1. Introduction

Zhuhai Wanshan International Intelligent Vessel Competition is under the guidance of China Classification Society (CCS) and Guangdong Science and Technology Association. It is hosted by Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory and Zhuhai Wanshan Unmanned Ship Marine Test Site. The purpose is to promote the exchange and development of technology in the intelligent ship industry. The competition encourages the innovation of intelligent vessel systems and exceptional arithmetic talents, improves the autonomy of intelligent vessels, and improves the intelligence level of marine equipment.

The organizer will provide a free boat for every finalist, including power and propeller, a communication module, navigation unit, industrial computer and sensors including visible light camera, millimeter-wave radar and Lidar, and the team can install their sensors also. The participating teams need to control programs developed according to the competition project in the industrial computer and conduct competitions around technologies such as environment perception, map construction, planning decision, and motion control.

No registration fee will be charged for this competition. The team is required to submit one technical proposal for the assessment points of the competition project. Then the technical committee composed of industry experts will conduct a screening and determine 8 to 10 teams to be finalists. If there are less than 8 teams in the first round of technical program review, then a second round of discussion will be conducted after half a month, during which the team that has not been finalized will be allowed to modify and resubmit the technical plan, and let the new club sign up and submit the technical proposal. During the screening process, experts from the technical committee will conduct telephone, video, and even face-to-face exchanges with the team depending on the scenario.

In addition to providing boat platform, debugging facilities, logistical support, and technical guidance, the organizers also provide free transportation (economy class) from the school's location to Zhuhai, China, and organizers will offer accommodation costs not exceeding ten days each time. The twice trips are suggested one for

debugging and one for competition. Teams that are not finalists may participate in the finals at their own expense (boat rental, transportation, and accommodation).

The organizer will provide the participating boat platform and open the test site(simulated, not the final competition site) from January 20, 2020, for the finalist to debug. The time for debugging should be confirmed with the organizer before September 15.

2. Requirements

(1) Students from universities and colleges all over the world can sign up for the competition or participate in cross-school teams to take part in the competition. In principle, only one team of each school can be screened to be finalist.

(2) Students can be undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students. Each participant can only register for one team, and each team has no more than five members.

3.Awards and bonus

There are four prescribed competition events and one creative project in this competition. For specific items, please refer to "Introduction to Events." In addition to individual and total championships, the rest of the awards are selected by the competition expert group

Remarks：(1) The Best Project Award (poster): The poster is required to be exquisite and

creative, and it can visually display the main content and advantages of the technical solution. The organizer will open a public exhibition area for posters during the competition.

(2) The Best Program Award (speech): Requires smooth expression, clear thinking, and technical solutions. The organizer will hold an open professional presentation during the competition.

(3) The Best Design Award (Painting): The team can personally paint the USV provided by the organizer, requiring the creative design to identify the team character and fit the theme of the competition.

(4) The best programmer award: selected in all the finalists’ technical solutions, technical solutions, and engineering are required to a much higher level.

Encourage the team to submit creative events to the organizer for the next year’s competition. Once adopted, the team will receive a generous gift award

5. Venue

The location of the competition is tentatively scheduled to be located in Nansha Bay, Dong'ao Island, Zhuhai, China. An island backs the bay area with a full sea surface and no reefs and waterways.

6.Supplements

(1) Due to the irresistible factors such as weather, the organizers have the right to adjust the schedule and venue;

(2) If there is a dispute in the competition, the captain will file a complaint with the referee in writing on the same day, and the referee will submit the data and other information saved during the competition to the organizing committee for arbitration;

(3) For the violations in the competition, the warnings will be given according to the seriousness of the circumstances, the penalty for penalty time, and the penalty for canceling the competition results;

(4)For the cheating in the game, once the qualification is confirmed, the eligibility of the competition will be canceled, and the unit where the team is located will be notified;

(5) The organizing committee has the final interpretation of the rules of this competition.
