The little girl in the story used her imagination a lot and took her dolls to lots of different places! But then the little boy cut them all up and she could only have them in her memory. She couldn’t see them but she knew they were still there.

This is how some people feel about God. They feel God’s presence, even if they can’t see him. Have a look on the next page at the work we did around this in class. ‘God is like a flower because he helps us to grow.’

How did the Father in the story react to his son returning home? How did he treat him? Was this the right way to treat him?

Think about what you know about the Christian faith. How would God want Christians to behaviour in our current situation?

Can you wrap and decorate a box (see next page for ideas) and write some little messages to post through about what Christians could do or say in this situation? What would Mary do?
