The future of the University of Hartford has never looked so bright. The success of the most challenging and important fundraising campaign in the University’s history is evident throughout the campus. Thanks to 34,156 alumni, parents, and friends, the Campaign of Commitment raised more than $175 million over the past 10 years. The results have been remarkable. The University has been transformed academically, physically, and financially. Today, the University is poised to build on that success, and your support is vital as ever as we continue our momentum. The University of Hartford owes a great deal to its donors of the past, the present, and the future and we are committed to valuing them in appropriate, meaningful ways. Stewardship is the link between the institution and the donor in building trust, credibility, and gratitude through donor recognition and acknowledgment, as well as fund establishment and enhancement.

Donors have the right to expect that an institution will be a good steward and that it will be accurate and truthful. When donor expectations are fulfilled, a strong message is sent to the donor that both the gift and the giver are appreciated.*Planned Giving (http://www.hartford.edu/giving/plannedgiving/)

Thanks to generous donors, RIT today is a unique and distinguished university. The Fund for RIT is the annual giving campaign, which runs from July 1 to June 30, that encourages alumni, parents, friends and even students to regularly support RIT. Every year, the dollars raised through The Fund play a critical role in advancing RIT’s academic excellence, diversity and the opportunities provided for our students. Why is your support so important?EVERY GIFT COUNTS! No matter where you direct your gift—or the amount of your gift—it will make a difference in the lives of our students. Today, tuition covers only about 54% of what it really takes to operate hundreds of degree programs and student services. Your gift, combined with support from thousands of others, provides resources that the university needs year after year. If you are an alum, your participation in our annual campaign will also help RIT maintain its top rankings, which increases the value of every RIT degree. The Fund reaches out several times during the year—through mail, phone calls and e-mail—to ask for your continued support. Please consider adding your gift and becoming part of a great tradition of Tigers “giving back.” As always, you may direct your gift to your favorite area of [email protected],

ScholarshipsThe Maryland Alumni Association is committed to supporting excellence by providing scholarship opportunities. The alumni association will provide 15 scholarships; 10 undergraduate students will each receive $2000 and 5 graduate students will each receive $3,000. In addition to a minimum 3.0 GPA for undergraduates and 3.0 GPA for graduate students, ideal applicants will volunteer in their communities or on campus, participate in extracurricular activities and write a compelling essay on building Terrapin spirit among the student body

The Colonnade SocietyIndividuals who share the university’s vision of consistent excellence and whose annual gifts to any area(s) at Maryland total $1,000 or more are recognized with membership in the Colonnade Society. Alumni within five years of graduating from Maryland may join the society with gifts totaling $500 and current students may join with gifts totaling $100 annually. Corporations receive Colonnade Society status with gifts totaling $5,000 or more.

Whether your gifts come through the Terrapin Club or a departmental scholarship, Colonnade members are the catalysts that energize the university’s implementation of its ambitious 10-year strategic plan.

You help make it possible for students to receive the financial aid they need to stay in school.

You help bring the highest level of scholarship to the classroom. You help foster extraordinary opportunities that broaden the student experience at

Maryland.

Colonnade Society members are leadership donors who understand that tuition and state funding fulfill only about half of the institution’s operating budget and that much more is required for Maryland to operate as an exceptional public research university. By joining other leadership donors in the Colonnade Society, you help Maryland grow more self-reliant and resilient every day.

Colonnade Society members enjoy exclusive benefits, including a designated staff person for your inquiries.

Giving to MIT (http://giving.mit.edu/index.html)Supporters: Individuals

1. Annual fund: Annual participation in giving is powerful proof of an institution’s greatness—and its worthiness of support. Yet despite its excellence, MIT only ranks middle of the road in annual participation among its peers. A movement is afoot to change this, and MIT alumni, parents, current students, and friends are leading the way.2. MT10 Giving: Today’s students are more positive and proud of MIT than ever before and it shows! One of the best examples of this MIT pride is the dramatic increase in Senior Class Gift participation which leapt from an average of 30% to 51% in 2006, and setting new records every year since. Last year the class of 2012 achieved the highest ever Senior Gift participation at 80%.
