Golgi body - receives materials from the ER, packages them, and sends them to other parts of the cell Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) - a network of passageways that carries materials from one part of the cell to another Nucleus- controls activities of the cell and contains hereditary information (DNA)

Vacuole- stores water, food and wastes Ribosomes- the protein factories for the cell Cytoplasm- a fluid mixture that contains the organelles and the compounds the cell needs Cell membrane- separates the inside of the cell from the outside environment. Lets some materials pass in or out of the cell Cytoskeleton- Gives the cell its shape and provides strength Lysosome- Contains chemicals that break down food particles and worn-out cell parts Mitochondria- Produce most of the cell’s energy

Ribosomes – The protein factories of the cell Mitochondria – Produce most of the cell’s energy Cell wall – Surrounds the cell membrane and provides rigid structure Central vacuole - Stores water, food and wastes. Also provides support for the cell when full Cell membrane – Separates the inside from the outside environment. Lets some materials pass in and out of the cell Cytoskeleton – Gives the cell its shape and provides strength Chloroplasts – Capture energy from sunlight and store it in molecules
