Mrs. Harkins’ 3 rd Grade Notes from the Teacher * We are putting together a Main Event raffle basket this year. We will be working with Mrs. Perry’s class to fill our basket. THIS IS THE LAST THING we are in need of this year! I know by this point everyone is exhausted! If you are willing to send a beach/pool themed item in to help fill our basket that would be GREATLY appreciated. YOU’RE ALMOST THERE PARENTS!!! Students will be learning about the lifecycle of a butterfly and watch it firsthand in our very own classroom! Also, students will learn about our last few literary devices. Our focus will be on Alliteration, Onomatopoeias, Puns, and Hyperboles. Students will learn how to use these in their own Fairy Tale adaptation. Vocabulary: disappear, capture, supply, enclosure, harming, involved, pollution, protect Math: Students will begin Module 7. In this module students will have more practice with word problems and hands-on experiences with geometry and perimeters. Writing: Students will continue to draft and revise their adapted fairy tale. Important Dates May 2 nd – 2:00 Dismissal May 3 rd - MAIN EVENT May 8 th – 4 th grade orientation
