Lesson 5

Obligatory, voluntary & disliked elements of prayer

Pg. no. 56

His prayer is invalid as he left second Sajdah, a pillar of salah.

He must redo his prayer as he left a pillar of salah which cannot be compensated by Sajdah of forgetfulness.

Pg. no. 58

Obligatory acts of prayer as mentioned in the hadith:

1. Takbiratul Ihram

2. Standing up to recite Surat ul Fatihah

3. Bowing

4. Raising head from bowing

5. Two Prostrations

6. Sitting between prostrations

7. Remaining in every state until one feels at rest

Pg. no. 59

· I cooperate and categorize:

Obligatory sayings of prayer

Obligatory acts of prayer

· Takbeeratul Ihram:

Allahu Akbar

· Bowing

· Surah Al Fatihah

· Standing up to recite Surat ul Fatihah

· Subhana rabbiyal Atheem

· Sitting between two prostrations

· Subhana Rabbiyal Ala

· Two prostrations

· Assalamu Alaikum Wa rahmatullah.

· Tasleem

I discuss and assess:

Ans: His prayer is nullified and he must repeat his salah

Pg. no. 60

I read & infer:

· (One volunteer element)

Ans: Reciting one more surah along with Surah al Fatiha.

· (the consequences).

Ans: The prayer will be valid but one will miss the rewards of not following the Sunnah acts.

The prayer will be nullified; omitting an obligatory element of the prayer cannot be compensated with the prostration of forgetfulness.

The prayer will not be nullified by not doing voluntary acts.

Pg. no. 61

I think and determine:

· Looking around during the prayer * Not focusing in Prayer.

· It is like Shaytan stealing something from prayer.

Pg. no. 62

I categorize & infer:

Reduces the reward

Nullifies the prayer

Does not nullify the prayer

Acts during prayer

Disliked & reduces the reward
