4th Grade Stakeholder Information

SheetNovember 18 - 22, 2019

Look what we’re learning this week…

ELA: This week students will begin researching how each side of the American Revolution responded to the events that took place within the Revolution.

Math: We are moving into Module 4: Angle Measure and Plane Figures. This module introduces points, lines, line segments, rays, and angles, as well as the relationships between them. Students will be able to recognize that two rays sharing an endpoint form an angle and will soon be able to identify and construct angles that are right, acute, and obtuse. Once they have an understanding of angles, they will be able to explore the relationship between lines and be able to define parallel, perpendicular, and intersecting lines. A Module 4 study guide will be coming home on Monday, a Topic A quiz will be on Friday.

Social Studies: This week we are finalizing our analysis of the events leading to the Declaration of Independence. Students will complete the summative on Tuesday, November 19th. Wednesday we will begin analyzing Topic Two: “Developing a Government.”

Science: Students will continue to explore how energy transfers from one place to another through multiple hands-on activities. Students will also continue to refine their skills at recording observations accurately and with detail. They will apply this knowledge with a formative assessment on Wednesday, referring to their ability to recall information recorded during their activities this week and last.
