UMCAT CULTURAL GALLA EMPHASIZES STUDENT’S TALENTS

United media consultants and trainers (umcat) school of journalism and mass communication on the 10th of june 2016 cellebrated their fourth time cultural galla based on the thyme of promoting the journalism culture among the umcat students.

The umcat cultural galla is held every year at one of the umcat compuses in the country and this is just preperations for the up coming cultural galla to take place at the soroti compus.

According to the students, this year’s cultural galla was better than any other cultural galla held at umcat right from its start in 2013 due to the ight competitions and the increased previllages given to the best performers.

Report from the administrators of the school is instead opporsing student’s statements and their report shows how this year’s cultural galla did not meet the aims of culture unlike the previous years where participants could come dressed in cultural ways could compete in cultural dances that has not been the case.

They also went on to say that the cultural gala is not meant to promote the journalism culture only but also the traditional culture. It being a competition about culture, participants should compete all cultures.
