Introduction:•About 400 Million people globally lack access to one or more essential health

services

•Every year 100 million are pushed into poverty and 150 million people suffer from financial catastrophe because of out-of-pocket expenditure on health services.

Definition:•Universal health coverage (UHC) means that all people and communities can use the

promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative health services they need, while also ensuring that the use of these services does not expose the user to financial hardship.

Objectives:–To achieve Equity in access to health services-.

•To fight against poverty by reducing the burden of expenditures on health services

•-to Participate in maintenance of sustainable development

To Guarantee the quality of health services-

•Inputs •Medicine and health sciences students at U of S-

•Experts and health workers in study area-

•-Volunteers and local communities

•- Merchants and businessmen.

What are the problems that interfere achieving UHC?

1. difficulty to communicate with remote villages .

2 .illiteracy and lack of knowledge.

3 .ignorance the importance of the UHC .

4 .corruption in administrative committees.

5 .poverty and low income.

6 .Nomadic .

7 .wars.

What are the most common health problems in sinnar area?

What are the solutions? Establishment of first aid training centers, midwifery and health education in villages and rural areas.

Employment the alumni of these centers in their own villages .

•-Nomination of local delegates in each village to facilitate the transmission of health data, such as the number of deaths, the number of monthly and annual births, and

early declaim in cases of epidemic... ect.

-Rehabilitation of hospitals and health centers and provide them with medical equipments and enhance the infrastructure and health workers.

-supporting and encouraging literacy program.

-funding the development projects.

-Road making

Sinnar state

Sinnar was the first state that enter under the umbrella of health insurance in Sudan.

It has an area of about 40,680 square kilometers, with 7 local governments , 21 administrative units and 1,143 villages.

In terms of health, it has 33 hospitals, 112 health centers and 558 health units . it's population equal to 1,285,058 in the year 2008.

The role of university of sinnar to achieve UHC. University of sinnar was established on base of community oriented system ,so that you can see many high impact activities on the area round the university, for example , in every end of the academic year ,students of the class use to spend one week in the rural areas, to carry out many health activities such as environmental sanitation, health education ,medical symposiums, and teaching the members of those communities the basic health skills such as basic life support and antenatal care .in this way it covers many health issues which are involved in universal health coverage .so that in my opinion university of sinnar should be considerd as one of the

community friend university in the world.

which area we should start this project at ? why?•Answer: The area of 44 wad Tektok administration, because of many reasons

firstly, I have good contact with the active members in the area,I have received an invitation from the local committees and volunteers to application this project

in their area. • Secondly , they are fully prepared to support the project.

•Thirdly, I was born and raised in this area , thus I know almost every thing around the area very well.

About the study area: Area of 44 wad Tektok is one of 21 administrative units in Sinnar state,

belonging to the locality of east of Sinnar, and distance about 40 kilometers from Sinnar city , it has one rural hospital serving 44 villages, in addition to three health centers, one of them has been out of service for

ten years.

What are the arrangements under way for the implementation of the project in this area ?

We have made an agreement among the administrators of The local committees, volunteers, traders and health staff in the region in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Sinnar state to start the project, and we began with collecting the donations from the initiative members, and we collected around 68 thousand pounds in one week in addition to some materials .then we all agreed to start from rehabilitation of the

Hospital, in terms of infrastructure, equipments and health staff .

What is the future vision of the project?The project's future vision is to achieve universal health coverage all across Sudan before 2030

Conclusion. Sinnar was the first state that enter under the umbrella of health insurance in Sudan, can we also make it the first state which achieve

universal health coverage in Sudan , and we hope that.
