Hi everyone, I wonder do any of you recognise the image I found online. I’m sure most of you have been to this beauty spot on your doorstep. Hi everyone,

I wonder do any of you recognise the image I found online. I’m sure most of you have been to this beauty spot on your doorstep. I have never been but must go at the end of the summer or next summer. I always think how lucky you all are to live near beaches and the sea. Poor old Monaghan is land locked!!!!!! Maybe that’s why I can’t swim. I’m hoping Josh and Róisín will be able to swim though. They have both had swimming lessons. Josh loved the lessons although Róisín wasn’t a fan!!!!! I hope you get a chance to enjoy your local beaches and the great outdoors over the summer. Leave the ipads for school work and the computer games for November weekends. Happy June everyone!

Stay Safe,

Comprehension Support and Vocabulary – ‘Koalas’

Like Ms Donnelly used to do with you at school I am going to go through the tricky words in your comprehension reading that Mr Hynes has assigned for you this week. This week’s comprehension is a factual piece of writing about koalas. Koalas are found in Australia. In this comprehension you will learn and discover lots of facts about koalas that you mightn’t have known previously. Read the text slowly and enjoy it!

Read over this vocabulary before reading the story in your book. I have explained all the words that you might not be familiar with in the story.

Eucalyptus forests

Nearly all eucalypts are evergreen but some tropical species lose their leaves at the end of the dry season. The leaves are covered with oil glands. These oils are often used to treat coughs and colds. These types of forests are found all over Australia.

4 th Class Friday Corrections 5 th June

Well done on all your efforts this week boys and girls!

You can correct your SNIP Session 11 work with the answers on the next three pages.

These words are great to know how to spell as you may use them a lot in your written work. Whatever words you misspelt in your ‘test of mastery’ / Friday Test rewrite them a few times until you feel you can confidently spell the word. It’s a good idea to keep all your spelling work together and next week to check over the words from this week and see can you spell them all.

Enjoy your weekend,

Mrs. Hurson
