What is the technique?The technique is pixilation animation

How do you do it?To create this you move the objects you’re using only slightly and take a photo

each time you move them, then when you put all the photos together it looks like all the objects are moving by themselves.

The whole of this specific film is photos combined together; there is no use of normal fluid film. Whereas there may be in other animations like this.

How does it show time passing?It shows time passing by taking so many photos over time and combining them all to create a short film. It can take months and thousands of photos to create an animation like this.

Could you use this in our final piece?I could use this in my final piece, as it is quite a simple way to create a short animation.

What is the technique?The technique is pixilation animation.

How do you do it?To create this you need a story, and objects and

people to make small movements and capture each small movement and how it changes to combine it altogether and create a short film. This film also includes normal fluid film in parts to make it a bit more realistic. It also means the animator didn’t have to take photos of every single moment.

How does it show time passing?This shows time passing by the photographer would have had to take thousands of photos over days at a time. And you can see throughout the film, the weather and lighting and atmosphere of the film does not change, meaning the film maker would had to have made sure the weather and atmospheric conditions were similar throughout. Also it shows how time passes as at the beginning of the film, the neighbours are friends and get along with one another. But over time they become unfriendly and start to fight and be violent with one another. This shows how the smallest things can change behaviour over time.

Could you use this in our final piece?This could be used in the final piece, as it is a simple technique that combines normal film with pixilation animation. It looks good and has a cinematic effect.
