How to Register for Classes:
Add forms will now be received and processed as a lottery. All forms will be accepted at any time since it will be a random draw. Our first lottery will be will be held on August 29th. We will hold a second lottery on September 2nd. Any form received after the final lottery date will be addressed in a first-come-first-serve manner. Families with multiple children will be given one number for the lottery. Students who are requesting classes out of grade range will be given last priority. Electronic Add/Drop forms can be found on our website, www.pathwayscharter.org under the tab Regions /Lake & Upper Napa/Angwin:Class Schedule.
1. Carefully read complete description of desired classes.
2. Carefully read the Center Rules and Guidelines with your student(s).
3. Note class dates and times and verify ability to consistently attend.
4. Complete the online add/drop form.
5. Read and sign Middle School or High School letter for each student.
6. Fill out an Emergency Card for each student.
7. RETURN all signed, completed documents to the Angwin Administrative Office. ALL documents must be on file before a student can attend class.

Wait List InformationAlthough we try our best to facilitate each registration request, no class is guaranteed. If we reach maximum enrollment, a wait list will be started. Once space is available in a class, a student must complete an ADD form before they are enrolled. Enrollment is not automatic.

Solano Center Rules and Guidelines.
Policy and ProcedureIt is critical that students and families adhere to the following rules and guidelines to ensure student safety
and a positive learning environment. We anticipate full cooperation and support.
Site Rules: Pathways Charter School is a closed campus. However, parents of high school students ONLY may
authorize access to a 15 minute lunch pass to leave campus. If student is tardy or absent to class/student meeting after having left campus, the consent may be revoked by Pathways and an improvement referral may be written.
Students may arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the beginning of class. Students must leave campus no later than 10 minutes after their last class is dismissed. All Pathways Students who attend classes must adhere to campus policies. Pathways Charter School is a drug, bully, and foul language free school. Students found doing drugs while on campus or coming to campus while under the influence will not
be tolerated and appropriate action will be taken. Students shall only be on campus to attend class, meet with IST, attend a testing session, or other
approved activities. Students must be respectful and considerate of their classmates and instructors. Students MAY NOT wait/loiter outside of the building or in stairwells at any time. There is no kitchen access for any students. There is no gum allowed on campus. Students are expected to follow the dress code and computer use policy. Behaviors considered disruptive and disrespectful to the Pathways Staff or fellow students will not be
tolerated and may result in expulsion from the class and or center attendance.
Registering for Classes: Regular class attendance is required. Respect for Pathways Staff and Class Instructors is expected. Lack of compliance with school rules will be grounds for removal from class. K-6 students must be accompanied by a parent to class and picked up by an authorized care-giver at the
end of class. Students in attendance for a 3rd class meeting are committed for the term of a class and appropriate fees will
be deducted from the student’s budget.
All classes are generally filled on a first-come, first-served basis and we try our best to facilitate each registration request, though no class is guaranteed. In general, upon reaching maximum enrollment, a wait list will be started. Site classes are considered supplementary to the home-based education program. Independent work done outside of class and/or homework is expected and necessary for many of our classes. Parental support and oversight of this work is expected and an important part of student success.
A new signed Emergency Card must be completed every year.All signed, completed documents must be returned to the Upper Napa Administrative Office.

Notice to Pathways Parents of Middle School Students
The following letter includes important information regarding student drop off/pick up, lunch time, attendance, and grading policies. Please read carefully and sign this notice and turn in the office manager prior to the first day of onsite classes.
Please remember that the Napa regional site is a closed campus. Students are not to loiter anywhere outside the building before, after, or during class. Students staying for afternoon classes should bring a sack lunch and water bottle. Please be mindful that refrigerator space is limited and for staff use only. Students staying to participate in afternoon classes require supervision during their break and parents are expected to provide this. As we are an independent study program, we are not equipped to monitor unsupervised students.
All students are required to attend classes regularly. Since the middle school program is only two days per week, attendance is critical to academic progress and success. If your child receives more than two unexcused absences during a learning period, it MAY result in an improvement referral. Your child’s success is our priority.
The grading policy for the Middle school classes is as follows: student will receive their grade based on the following elements: daily attendance, class participation, homework completion, academic growth and assessment. The grade percentage breakdown is as follows;
A: 90-100% B: 80-89% C: 70-79% D: 60-69% F: below 59%Please make sure your child comes to each class prepared with a backpack, binder, planner,
paper, pencils, and any other necessary items.

In this class students will explore three great civilizations, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. The approach will be multi-disciplinary, as we will tackle history, geography, creative writing, art and performing arts in relation to our study subjects. We will also tap into a variety of learning resources, written but also audio and video materials, kinetic games and performances in which the fun of learning literally takes shape.
Students will play an active and hands-on role in this class. They will be encouraged to contribute their knowledge and talents, but also define the direction this class and the projects in which we engage will take. This will definitely not be a “sit down and listen” class!

With this course, students generalize, formalize, and extend the mathematics they learned in the middle grades. Students practice solving problems and expressing solutions in multiple ways while learning how various mathematics disciplines are connected. In using this common core standards aligned curriculum our goal is to increase student engagement, higher order thinking and problem solving skills. This is a yearlong course.
Materials: Carnegie Learning Integrated Math 1 student work text & cognitive tutor online component.
Notes: PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS. Additionally, parents will need to follow the class syllabus, check student’s work completion daily, and communicate with the instructor as needed. Parent involvement is critical to your child’s success in Math. Students should be spending 3 hours per week completing the online component as well as completing weekly assignments from class instructor.
