Winter Break Music Challenge

Enter Rx FACTOR for your chance to be part of a Bright Minds Films PSA music video starring Sparsh Shah*, 17-year old phenom/YouTube sensation and youth ambassador for Mission Possible Foundation’s initiatives for youth prevention of substance use.

We are excited to partner with Mission Possible Foundation in bringing Rx FACTOR to Palm Beach County. Students who participate in this healthy competition become familiar with the negative effects of smoking, the truth about vaping and are informed about the issue of Big Tobacco targeting children in their advertising....all  through educational music parodies of their favorite songs. 

Our Winter Break Music Challenge is focused on the song, “Finish It” to the tune of “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons. We have included the lyric video to view for reference, performed by Sparsh. Please see mp4 attachment.

Our students are invited to participate in up to three categories for the chance to win cash prizes and an opportunity to appear in a mash-up music video of “Finish It” for presenting to Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons in honor of his standing up to Big Tobacco by participating in The Truth Campaign.

Please note the following four items:

1. We invite you to download the lyrics pdf and view the music video even if not participating in the contest.

2. Attire for recording any film clip is either a black or a white colored plain top. No shorts or sleeveless shirts.

3. When sending in submissions, please note in the entry form which category number and style, when applicable, (whether it is performed as a ‘song’ , 'lip sync’ or 'spoken word’).

4. Each submission guarantees a student to receive a free game (value $15) called, “The Butts Stink Playing Cards”. Deck contains 13 of the Stinkiest Facts about Smoking on 52 traditional playing cards with instructions for 13 fun card games. Limit one per student.

Although contest is open to all ages, Category #3 provides a great way to engage even the youngest students.

CATEGORY #1 – REFRAIN

Students are asked to submit a film clip of them either singing, lip syncing or performing the refrain as a spoken word piece for a chance to win a $100 cash prize for first place & a $25 cash prize for runner-up

CATEGORY #2 – STANZA OF CHOICE*

To be eligible for a prize in Category 2, a student must have also participated in Category 1.

There are seven stanzas in total, each numbered on the lyric page. Students may enter this category up to seven times per style (song, lip sync or spoken word) for a chance to win a $100 cash prize for first place and a $25 cash prize for runner up, but each film clip must be submitted separately. To be clear, a student could enter up to three submissions per stanza, one per style.

CATEGORY #3 – MAKE A PASSION STATEMENT

“MY NAME IS ________ (first name only) AND I AM NICOTINE-FREE!”

Students are invited to enter a short clip of them reciting their Rx nicotine-free statement for a chance to win a $25 cash prize. Two prizes will be awarded for CATEGORY 3.
