WORD EXERCISE – CHRISTMAS DAY MENU

In this exercise we are going to use page borders; change font style and size; embolden add an image from ONLINE PICTURES and align text.

Open Microsoft Word 2016

Type: “Christmas Dinner Menu” at the top of the page

Centre your heading by first highlighting then click on the centre icon

Leave a few lines they type “Starters”Underneath the heading type whatever you are going to serve for starters.

Leave another few lines and type “Main Course”

Underneath the heading type whatever you are going to serve for you Main course (don’t forget vegetables etc)

Leave another few lines and type “Deserts” or “Puddings”Underneath the heading type whatever you are going to serve for you Desert course.

Leave another few lines and add tea/coffee Christmas Cake etc

We are now going to change the font size, style and centre

High light all the test by clicking on the arrow beside the word select at the right hand side of the home ribbon. Click on select all

This will highlight all your text at once allowing you to make changes.

Click on the arrow beside the font type and choose a different font.

Now click on the arrow beside the font size and choose what size you like

To Embolden your headings; highlight then click on the bold icon

We are now going to add a page border

Adding ONLINE PICTURES

Click on the INSERT Menu

Click on ONLINE PICTURES

Type Christmas Dinner in the search box and click GO

Click on a suitable image

WRAP TEXT

Choose Wrap text - Square

Click on INSERT

NOTE: When using ONLINE PICTURES – there is text at the bottom of the image giving the source code … this can be deleted
