Open any webpage and make your way to relay.miracosta.edu and sign in.

After successfully signing in, on the right hand side you will find a download button.Icon

Open Campasia Relay and sign in. Select a profile, give your video a title and description if you would like. If you will be talking, plug in a microphone or if you will be shooting video of yourself make sure your webcam is turned on. When you are ready hit record.

When you are recording you will see this window, it will keep track of the time you have recorded. When you are done hit the stop button.

The next window you will see is your detail window. This is where you want to crop your video if necessary. You want to move the downward triangle to the position you want, then use either the left or right crop, in this picture I have cropped 4 seconds from the left hand side.

When you are done hit the submit button

If you would like to start over hit the discard button

After you submit your video you will receive an email from Camtasia Relay which has a link that will take you straight to your video. Or you can log into relay.miracosta.edu click on the video title you created and click on the Edit Captions button.

Breakdown of the caption toolbar

In the display below the message should read: “This video is primarily to show you how to edit your captions within Camtasia relay”. I would use the window to edit this caption to correct ‘clicking and campy to’ to ‘within Camtasia relay.’

If I drag a caption box to meet the next caption box those two boxes will merge.

If you would like to split your caption box you will use the Split Caption button

When you are happy with the layout and corrections of your captions, click the Save button in the lower right hand corner.

Then you will click on the Preview and Submit button in the top left hand corner.

This is the Preview and Submit window, where you can watch your video and read the captions as they would look online. You can edit your captions on the right hand side under the Caption Text.

When you are done, click the publish button.
