Recounts

We are thinking about writing a recountSuccess Criteria- write in chronological order (time order)- describe the what and when- have an introduction, sequence of events and conclusion

Take a piece of paper and divide it into three equal pieces like I have done (you could do this on the computer, by drawing lines on a blank Word page, if you wanted to).

Now put the following words into each section.

Then add the words I have used into the events box.

We are going to plan and write a recount about what happened to Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. It will be a three point recount as we have added three time connectives in our Events box.Using the description bubble below, we are going to write our three events paragraphs today.

We will write number, size and texture sentences for each time connective.

The first paragraph of the Events section starts with ‘commencing’, check in the dictionary what this means if you are not sure.Look at my example and you can either borrow my ideas or come up with your own to write on your sheet/Word document.

Now we need to do the second paragraph that starts with the time connective ‘from this point’. Look at my example then write your own.

Now we need to write our final Events paragraph.Again, look at my example and then write your own, remembering your number, size and texture sentences as well as any other details you feel are important.
