ABC Compromise

Is for the Articles of Confederation

Federalists Anti-FederalistsGet rid of them! Fix them!

Is for the Bill of Rights

Federalists Anti-FederalistsWe don’t need a list of our rights… that’s

common sense!

We need to list our rights so we are

protected from the gov’t

Is for the Constitution

Federalists Anti-FederalistsWe need to have a

Constitution!No Constitution!

FEDERALists want a stronger FEDERAL (AKA: Central/ National) government

ANTI-Federalists are AGAINST a strong federal gov’t (anti=against) and prefer the power in the state governments

So what did they do??? THEY COMPROMISED… The Federalist got their Constitution and the Anti-Federalists got their Bill of Rights. They decided on a federal system where power is SHARED by the large national government AND the smaller state governments.
