expectations.
The dissemination plan is thus designed to collect the advice and opinions of target users, external partners, and experts who are recognised in the field (producers, users, universities, etc.).
In this plan, we discuss the various different types of information disseminated, the public targeted, and the means of dissemination, the characteristics of which are examined in detail.
An annex also assembles the list of publications, events, training centres and actors in the field of terminology put forward by the partners, together with an initial proposal for the Newsletter.

INTERVAL DISSEMINATION PLAN 7
3DISSEMINATION PLAN
3.1PURPOSE
The working methods and tools offered by the INTERVAL project deserve the widest possible distribution.
Furthermore, the Consortium intends to conceive a project which is completely consistent with user expectations. With this in mind, it seems vital, throughout the life of the project, to collect the advice and opinions of target users, external partners, and experts who are recognised in the field (producers, users, universities, etc.).
The dissemination plan is thus designed to :
- Generate awareness of the indispensable nature of validation.
- Inform Partners.
- Collect and process useful information from individuals outside the Consortium (prospective clients + experts), who may influence the final definition and increase the likelihood of the project being favourably received when it is launched.
- Distribute the results of the project.
N.B. All dissemination activities cease and are replaced by promotional actions when the product is launched (first sales).
3.2OUTGOING INFORMATION AND INCOMING INFORMATION
3.2.1Outgoing information
Outgoing information is defined as that which is distributed by the Consortium to external individuals.
The minimum information provided will be :
* At the start of the project :A presentation of the INTERVAL project.
* During the project : Progress reports (project presentation brochure, Newsletter, reports distributed outside the Consortium, etc.) ; preliminary test models1.
1 Under development (for validation)
INTERVAL DISSEMINATION PLAN 8
* At the end of the project : Test models2.
3.2.2Incoming information
By definition, incoming information is made up of all the data from external users which is addressed to the Consortium.
Incoming information primarily concerns the Users Club, and above all requires the ongoing consultation of active users in the club and contacts of those in the Consortium (partners' customers and acquaintances in the world of terminology). These users make available their experience and their methods, in testing and validating the results of the project.
Those responsible for the Dissemination plan will decide how the plan is to be used.
3.3TARGET PUBLIC
* INTERVAL users (public and private sectors), including :
· language industry,
· training centres, schools, universities,
· associations and networks,
· and more particularly partners in European projects belonging to the "Resources Cluster" and other "Clusters",
· Those possessing terminology resources with management, validation and reutilisation problems linked to the diversity or sources and the volume of data.
N.B. INTERVAL will provide terminology producers with a framework for the production of partially standardised data, which is therefore easier to manage.
* Experts : who may take part in the marketing phase by recommending the product - Associations and their members (ELRA, etc.), Networks (RINT, etc.), Training centres and Universities, etc.
It should be noted that, as the partners in the Consortium have detailed knowledge and experience in the field, those responsible for the Dissemination plan have networks of contacts and customers which enable them to carry out the intended dissemination activities.

4.5ANNEX V, INTERVAL NEWSLETTER
4.5.1Proposal for the Newsletter
4.5.1.1Environment of the Interval Newsletter
The INTERVAL Newsletter is an essential vector of information for the project. It will be used to provide concrete information : Work Package progress reports, major project markers, successes, user applications.
It will be distributed widely, among others, to :
· INTERVAL partners, members of the UC and SC,
· exhibitions in which Partners participate (cf. annex to the Dissemination plan),
· members of the “Resources Cluster”,
· members of the other Clusters,
· INTERVAL customers and Partners' contacts,
· those active in the world of terminology (networks and associations, members of ELRA),
· training centres, schools, universities,
· European community,
· publications.
To be able to reach these targets, the Newsletter will be available in its paper version ; an electronic version will also be available on Internet.
The Newsletter will progressively take over the role of the INTERVAL brochure in presenting the project.
4.5.1.2Definition of the Newsletter
The INTERVAL Newsletter will be edited by the responsibles of the various Work Packages (see distribution below).
La Newsletter will have a "user-friendly" style, and may evolve over the course of the project.
The proposed contents are :
Þ editorial,
Þ interview with a member of the UC or SC,
Þ timetable of events and deliverables,
Þ graph indicating progress on the project,
Þ presentation of terminology management tools (all tools, with emphasis on those of the Partners),
Þ presentation of a related project in the Telematics Applications field.
The cost estimate which follows includes the design of the page layout, the production and distribution of the Newsletter.
The format proposed is one recto-verso page, 21 x 29.7 cm, printed in four colours.
200 copies will be produced. The Newsletter will appear every 2 months (except during the summer).
Regular updates will be made to the Internet version.
2 letters will be produced in 1996 and 5 in 1997.
