I’m Ben Goins, proud graduate of Mt. Airy High School. I live in Mooresville, NC where I am the Vice President of Operations at Randy Marion Automotive, with automobile dealerships in four cities. I am very happily married to Libby Moody Goins, a private music teacher and also a Mt. Airy High School alumnus. We have been married since 1992 and have four children and three grandchildren together.

In school, my favorite teacher was my Spanish teacher Mrs. Harriett Smith and my favorite activity was playing for the MAHS basketball team. Go Bears! Back then, one of my favorite songs was “La La Means I Love You” by the Delfonics. My biggest challenge in high school was starting at a new school (Mt. Airy) in November of my Junior year where I knew very few people. My fellow classmates accepted me and made the transition very smooth. I went on to attend NC State University where I graduated in 1972.

The best decision I have made after seeking a divorce in 1977, was after 15 years of being single, my mother leading me to my greatest accomplishment: coming back to Mt. Airy to meet my future wife, Libby. She has truly been my rock.

I have been recently diagnosed with Immune Deficiency, which has been my greatest challenge in later years. With life’s challenges, I am reminded of how grateful I am to be surrounded by a loving and supportive family.

I am really looking forward to rekindling some old acquaintances from high school, which is where I had my greatest friendships.
