Nvidia Shield 16gb Custom Setup InstructionsInitial Setup – VERY IMPORTANT READ FIRST!!!!

1. Make sure the remote is paired with the device upon booting if not follow the included pairing instructions.

2. Once completely booted go to the bottom of the screen under “settings” and setup your wifi or hardwire the device.

3. Hit the circle button the remote (home button) then scroll through the app quick menu till you see kodi/spmc and launch.

4. Note that this device is loaded with a default account do not load any personal information in it such as credit card etc. You may use your own account if you wish it will not affect the programs I have loaded.

General MaintenanceJust as a computer over time files build up many of which unnecessary and it’s always good to clear the cache regularly. To do this simply go to the programs icon on the main xbmc homescreen, then click program add-ons and open “maintenance tool”. In the maintenance tool click general maintenance and then “clear cache”. Do this maybe once a month or more.

- Also note that at any time if the unit hangs up or freezes you can restart it by holding the enter (circle button) and play at the same time for five or so seconds.

- Do not chose to delete data or uninstall spmc/xbmc/kodi as that will erase this setup. Also do not perform a factory restore on the unit unless you want everything deleted and restored to factory conditions.

- Do not install any new/additional “builds”…. This will delete the build that I load on your unit.

Addon Overview – I’ve organized the major addons on the kodi homescreen while all of them can be accessed in the “addons” folder.

Movies/TV – Genesis Fork or Exodus (note: if genesis is slow due to their maintenance try some of the newer addons I’ve listed below phoenix has been great) would be number one it is basically the biggest collection of movies and tv series with the largest number of sources out of any addon. Most of the content is available in full 1080hd this is one of my primary addons. PrimeWire – If genesis doesn’t have it this would be 2nd. NEW* Phoenix and Velocity – These two addons provide great movie selections. Streamthis.TV- Great addon for tv shows MOREPOWER – Excellent one click addon for full hd 1080p movies with 5.1 dolby surround.

Sports – Sports Devil - The holy grail of sports addons and what has probably been the longest running sports addon. This addon compiles pretty much every link for every different sporting event available at any given time. The content is live so nfl, mlb, ufc etc check here first.Other sports addons: Robin Hood, Phoenix (great for hockey), Vdubt25

Live TV – This is one topic that is contantly changing within kodi as the sources constantly change and the people who maintain the addons constantly change. Currently Channel Pear or Woody (inside Phoenix) are the top live stream addons all that is required is creating a free username. **NEW** UFO Tv Guide has a very functional live tv list. – If you get no show info on your first launch. Go to programs->program addons-> Click UFO tv guide with context button-> click addon seetings -> reset database-> yes reset database. You can also come back to this menu and change file download interval to every 24hours so you don’t have to wait for a long load each time you open it just make sure for the first run it stays on “every start”

Vdubt and BBTS: Seem to be the consistent live streaming addons as well but experiment with any of the iptv list addons. Other live tv addons: BBts, RobinHood, Vdubt25, Zeus, Phoenix, F.U.B.A.R., Free Streams, more….

All in One – Navi X is a great addon for pretty much everything, new content some live streaming. Great in general if you are just looking for something you havn’t seen.

Mobdro – This is not a kodi addon (although I do have the shortcut right on the kodi main screen) It is an android addon but what this addon does is very amazing and it follows through on most of what it promises. The program has many live streams as well as channels dedicated to streaming specific tv series 24/7 and they all seem to work very well definitely worth a look.

Total Installer – The best quick addon downloader I have seen for kodi, type the name of the addon in the search and for the most part it should find it and walk you through the install process.

Aptiode – This is an android app that I have included and is basically a free version of the google play store. Everything available is free and for the most part can run on your fire tv device. I do include google play on all my rooted units but this is available on all of my units. If you use this a lot just make sure you don’t fill up the internal storage or hook up a flashdrive to the back for more space.

Customization Out of the box you have my personal setup which I find adequate it highlights the primary apps, genesis, movies4me, sports devil and cartoon hd as well as movie and tv libraries on the main screen. Should you want to tweak this more to your own liking you can add pretty much anything available on the fire tv that is installed to your main homescreen.

1. Start by going to settings, appearance, skin –settings, and customize.2. This brings up the full customize screen which is basically at full capacity with my customization but

you can easily swap out one of my premade tiles for something you prefer more simply overwrite one of my tiles you do not use.

3. Select the tile you want to replace and then select Custom Addons (If you have an item you have favorited you can select custom favorites.. this can include android apps, tv channels etc) , this will show a list of all addons and programs.

4. Select your item, change the name if you wish. You may also change the icon it gives you a default icon that can be changed to one that better fits the theme. Once selected back all the way out and your changes will be on the screen.

Genesis Fork and Primewire/1channel Library Integration (homescreen slideshow.. movies and tv shows)

I have integrated the main library with that of the genesis fork and 1channel/primewire addon so anything that you chose to add within that addon such as a movie or a tv series will appear in either the movie or tv show section on the main screen (it will also be included in the homescreen slideshow which really makes the presentation look great on this). To add something to library select it with the context button (button with 3 horizontal lines) and select add to library. Any tv series that you add is set to automatically update for future episodes so when you check in on some of your favorite shows you will begin to see latest episodes of your favorites appear as time progresses. The library of course can host anything you chose to add via the usb port as well (rooted model only) such as an external harddrive with content or you can simply use xbmc to play your additional content. *NOTE* Be careful not to add too many tv series to the library as it grabs every season of that show and will pull all the content such as cover art, this means your drive will fill up very fast… you can always expand your space with a flash drive but if you do not plan on expanding it try not to go too wild with adding older tv series for this reason. An alternative would be to simply add shows to your favorites and have quick access to it from the kodi homescreen.

Favorites From the main homescreen you can access your favorite menu using the context button (button with 3 horizontal lines). This same button is also used when you are not on the homescreen to bring up a context menu allowing you to add anything to your favorites. This little function is important because this basically allows you to add virtually any shortcut you want and make it accessible from the home favorites menu. For example say you really like a specific channel on my extensive live tv list you can simply add that channel to your favorites then it is added to your favorites menu on the homescreen, this can also be done for content or folders within any of the apps (or with amazon apps as I mentioned earlier).

Ilive.to (world TV) - carries a lot of Sportschannels that can be linked to program guides. Many have football games on competition days. Most of time good quality when (HD)

Always an adventure what you can find in all the other secions. Some stuf is dead and will get either new links or new catchers. Catchers Kings are Hubbab3 (now) and earlier Al101, Max and others. Feel free to PM with reliable repaired catchers.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Using Navi X – This addon can be a bit confusing as it does not operate like the others. The best way to get into navi x is to open it, click navi-x start here, then click most viewed 24 hours. This brings up the latest content released and usually the top list has mainly very new releases and they are generally in high def. The other lists are also worth checking out as you can find all types of stuff including live sports on navi-x. To exit navi-x tap the cursor to the far left until a menu pops up then click exit.
