Learning Intention- By finding and understanding specific detail I can draw and label a detailed map of the island that Michael has been stranded on. Task- You can draw a detailed map using the information from chapter 4. It must be the shape that the author has stated. It must have the beach, forest, hills, the massive boulders, a cave, and a ship’s hull in the relative places. It must be surrounded by sea. It must be labelled and include a key and compass. It must be coloured appropriately. Extension – You could add words and phrases to your map that Michael Morpurgo has used to create a clear image. For example – ‘a long swathe of brilliant white beach’ or ‘silken shimmering blue sea.’ You can be creative with this task. You can do - a drawing on paper or make the island from junk, paper mache or you can create it outside and show a birds eye view of the island using leaves, twigs, pebbles, stones, sand, grass etc. Task 2 – Create your own imaginary desert island. It would be lovely if you could take a photograph of your islands and share it on teams. I am looking forward to seeing them. Have fun!

Learning Intention- By finding and understanding specific detail I can draw and label a detailed map of the island that Michael has been stranded on.Task- You can draw a detailed map using the information from chapter 4.It must be the shape that the author has stated. It must have the beach, forest, hills, the massive boulders, a cave, and a ship’s hull in the relative places. It must be surrounded by sea.It must be labelled and include a key and compass. It must be coloured appropriately.

Extension – You could add words and phrases to your map that Michael Morpurgo has used to create a clear image. For example – ‘a long swathe of brilliant white beach’ or ‘silken shimmering blue sea.’

You can be creative with this task. You can do - a drawing on paper or make the island from junk, paper mache or you can create it outside and show a birds eye view of the island using leaves, twigs,

pebbles, stones, sand, grass etc.

Task 2 – Create your own imaginary desert island. It would be lovely if you could take a photograph of your islands and share it on teams. I am looking forward to seeing them. Have fun!
