A very warm welcome to all who have gathered here this morning. Today is the 17 th Sunday of Ordinary Time. Today is the United Nations World Day against trafficking in Persons. Please include in your prayers an end to human slavery and trafficking. Welcome to this parish of ……………………… ( parish name). We gather once again as the Body of Christ, ready to be fed at the table of the Word and the table of the Eucharist. Let us prepare for this Eucharist by taking a few moments of silence before Mass begins. (20 … seconds - stay at microphone). Welcome – please check out website later in the day, and silence your devices now. Let’s stand and sing together. Prayer of the Faithful For the Church – that we will find meaningful ways to share the Gospel, and speak of the Kingdom of God in today’s world. (Silence) Reader: E te Ariki All: Whakarongo mai rā ki a mātou. For governments and town and city councilors – that they have clear understanding of what is right, discern between good and evil and always act in the best interests of their communities. (Silence) Reader: E te Ariki All: Whakarongo mai rā ki a mātou. For parents who are unable to provide for their family – that they will be patient in their struggles, not become embittered by their hardship, will be supported by family, friends, and community, and able to receive with grace what is offered to them. For youth and young adults – that they will do what is good, choose what is right, and be attentive to the calling of the Spirit within their own hearts. For people struggling under financial burden – that that they use what little they have for good, seek what they need, and accept what is offered, and that neighbours and communities would be attentive and provide support.
