Higher History: General reading and instructions Hello everyone! First of all, congratulations, you made the right choice, well done for choosing Higher History. Secondly, you might feel anxious about embarking on work at home for the ‘next level up’. Please don’t worry. The History teachers have come up with a plan for the next 2 weeks and for May, when you will join your Higher class officially. In Higher History we cover 3 units over the course of the year: Scottish (sources based) British (essays based) European and World. (Essays based) To make things easy for us, we will spend May looking at the British topic, but only one issue within that. The issues we cover overall are: Issue 3: women and the vote Issue 4: Why the Liberals introduced Reforms Issue 5: How successful the Liberal Reforms were Issue 6: The Labour Reforms We will look specifically at Issue 4, Why the Liberals introduced Reforms. Hello everyone! First of all, congratulations, you made the right choice, well done for choosing Higher History. Secondly, you might feel anxious about embarking on work at home for the ‘next level up’. Please don’t worry. There’s no need to complete the tasks here or take notes, just read. For some more advanced reading and to gain an understanding of the extent of poverty in Britain at the turn of the twentieth century, read through the documents and evidence here:

On May 4th, your assigned teacher will teach you each element of this issue and how to put it together as a Higher Essay 😱😱. Essays this year are worth 22 marks 😱😱😱😱. But don’t worry, we will show you how to complete the essays every step of the way.
