Dart Container Honored by Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce Dart received the P3 Stewardship Award at the Chamber’s 33rd Annual Business Awards

STOCKTON, Calif. (June, 2018) – The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce held their Annual Small Business Awards Luncheon this month where many of the longstanding community businesses and business leaders were recognized for the good work they do to make Stockton and all of San Joaquin County a better place to live, work, and play. Dart Container Corporation, which employs more than 150 people at its Lodi facility, was honored at the day’s event with the Policies, Practices, and Purchasing (P3) Stewardship Award.

The P3 Stewardship Award is given to those companies and organizations that go above and beyond the call of standard manufacturing. Dart Container, for example, received this year’s award for their commitment to recycling the same foam #6 they produce, and even the foam products they do not manufacture.

“It was a great honor to be recognized by the Stockton Chamber for the positive environmental impacts Dart Container has made not only in San Joaquin County, but throughout California,” said Ron Crookham, Dart Container’s Lodi Plant Manager who accepted the award on behalf of the company. “My hope is that because of the award, people will become more familiar with the ways they can recycle their foam #6.”

One example of Dart Container’s stewardship is through their California program called “RecycleSix” in which Dart partners with cities and creates free recycling drop-off sites for foam. Two of the sites are located in San Joaquin County. As a result of this program, approximately 600,000 lbs. of foam has been diverted and recycled into material used for picture frames manufactured here in California.
