Discuss how easy or hard it is to try to eat at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day.In your Home learning books:

List three different types of fruit or vegetable that you really enjoy.

List two different types of fruit or vegetable that you are not too keen on but are going to try to eat more of for their health benefits.

List one fruit or vegetable that you have never tried before but are now going to try within the next week.

Good luck!!

RE LO: I understand how symbols are used in Baptism.Recap with their children what is Baptism. Have they been Christened or can remember going to a Christening?(The Christian celebration of Baptism was taught to the children earlier in the year)

Now watch the short clip of a Christian baptism.https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zr34wmnTalk about how the sign of the cross is made on the baby’s head and a candle is lit.In your home learning books design your own Baptism candle.

Music LO: I can enjoy singing songs smooth and gently. I can recognise a change in pitch.

We will continue our food themed songs and this week we will have a look at song number 4 ‘’Growth and energy amazing food!” from the link below;

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/music-ks1-music-food-fest-index/zhmyf4j

Listen to the sounds of drums, marimba and rockband.

Practice clapping a steady beat together, then clicking fingers, then tapping feet in time.

Notice how the tune of the chorus, ‘leaps’ down / up / down / up and so on.

Notice how the rhythm of the word ‘energy’ is said quickly each time. Can you sing the chorus loudly?Have fun!

Geography LO: Lo: To spot key features of seaside locations using aerial photographs. To use my senses to say describing words about what I can see in aerial photographs.

Use the ‘Feature of the Seaside 2’ PPT. Recap on physical and features of the

seaside by doing the ‘seaside sort’ on slide 3. Look at the aerial photograph of the seaside resort on slide 4. Can you name the photograph type? Ask: What does ‘aerial view’ mean? How is an aerial photograph different from a forward facing photograph, or a side facing photograph? Discuss the key features. Explain that children will be labelling the features on their own photograph. Then, ask children to put themselves in the picture, closing their eyes for a few minutes and thinking about how the photograph makes them feel. Encourage children to use their senses to describe what they might hear, see, smell, feel and even what they might be able to taste. Record some responses together and complete ‘In the picture’ worksheet below.

Finish off by looking at the last 3 slides and thinking about what questions you would like to ask about what is happening in the pictures.

PSHE LO: To know that connecting with other people is important to keep us healthy. To know ways of connecting without touching each other.

Looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health, and they often go hand in hand to support each other.

Remember ‘Making Summerseat Smile’, with each letter of SMILE referring to an area of wellbeing?

Last week we focused on being active. Explain that we are going to look at ‘Stay connected’ this week and think about what being connected means.Watch:

In your home learning books, draw a picture of the hedgehog and tortoise. Write as many ways of connecting around it.
