BROADSTAIRSLAURA VILLAPLANA10/2 – 16/2

DAY 1The first day, we left by bus from Yecla at 6.15 and arrived at the Alicante airport at 7.30. After checking in our bags, we had an hour free for lunch and we boarded the plane.

When we landed, I was expecting for us a girl named Jessica, who had been sent to us from school. After other hours on the bus, we have finally arrived at Broadstairs, where they have taught us the school, we have seen what class we are in and we have recieved our identity card. Since we had a little free time, we went for a walk to the beach. Later, each host family came to pick up their two students and they took us to their home.

Marta and I had Paul and Emily Ruth's house (11 Knight’s Avenue), they had two little children, Rory and Fara, and a dog: Charlie, who is always hungry and eager to play.

After seeing the house inside and settling in our room, we saw a rugby match with our host family, we had Roast Beef with Pudding, a typical recipe from there. Besides, for dessert, they gave us Apple Crumble with Vanilla ice-cream.

Finally, we brushed our teeth and went to bed.

DAY 2First of all, we went to school in the car, where we had classes from 9.00 to 10.30, with Emma, our teacher. In addition to the students who came from Azorín, in our class there were two Italians.

When we returned to class after lunch, we discovered that the door did not open, so we had to wait for them to come and fix it.

For lunch, the school had given as a sandwich of chicken, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and mayonnaise, a bag of chips that we could choose between salt and vinegar, cheese or prawns, a chocolate bar and a bottle of water.

After the free time of the meal, we had an activity: a questionnaire. It consisted of answering a list of questions looking for the answers in the posters of the beach and asking the people there.

At the end of the activity, as we have plenty of time, we had a hot chocolate.

When we returned home, walking, we got lost, and we had to ask for help from two girls who were on the street. When we arrived, Emily, our host mother, has marked the way for us on a map.

After dinner, we had to go to the San Pedro Bapist Church, but we become lost again. On this occasion, we asked for help first a group of Italian girls and second, a woman who was passing by.

DAY 3In the morning, we had a trip to Canterbury, where we were shown historical monuments and we have

divided to enter the Cathedral or have more time to see the city and make purchases.

When we returned to Broadstairs, we had classes, but in the evening, after having dinner, in teams, we participated in a questionnaire with some Chinese students, with whom we took many pictures.

DAY 4We have had classes through all the morning and in the evening, we have had karaoke with some Chinese students, we have listened to some songs in English and "La Macarena".

DAY 5In the morning, we had class, but after lunch, we took a long walk along the beach until we reached the next town, Ramsgate, where we bought some souvenirs and take some pictures.

At night, after dinner, we learned some martial arts techniques, and also, to defend ourselves from punches and armed people.

DAY 6We have spent the day in the capital of England, London, where we have visited some of the most emblematic monuments and places in the city, such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament or Trafalgar Square.

We have also had free time in Covent Garden to eat, and see the city without the monitors, buying more souvenirs and gifts.

In the evening, our teachers have managed to get the school to organize a disco, where we were dancing until it was time to go home to sleep.

DAY 7On the last day, we said goodbye to our host family, who took us to school in the car, like the first day.

Before going to the airport, we went through a shopping centre, where the teachers leave us free time to make last minute purchases.

And finally, we head home, where our parents await us anxiously and where we can sleep in our own beds.
