Vacancy for MCERTS Level 1 Monitoring Technician

Castings Technology International Ltd (Cti) is a Research and Technology Organisation based at the Advanced Manufacturing Park near Sheffield. Cti specialises in providing technical support to the cast metals industry in the UK and overseas. We have a section dedicated to the control and measurement of environmental impacts (emissions, noise, workplace dust etc.) of industrial operations.

A vacancy has arisen for an MCERTS Level 1 qualified Monitoring Technician to support the emissions monitoring team. The successful candidate will have experience in emissions monitoring at industrial sites and will be expected to:

1. Carry out emissions testing at industrial sites in all areas of the UK., and prepare test reports.

2. Assist in other monitoring work as appropriate.

3. Prepare quotations for environmental services, including sales visits to customers as appropriate.

4. Train of new/junior technicians in performance of emissions testing techniques in accordance with company detailed operating procedures.

5. Supervise maintenance of emissions testing equipment, including organisation of calibration, repair and servicing of instruments.

The applicant should be available to travel within the UK, and some of the work will involve overnight stays. Due to the nature of the work, irregular hours are often required. A clean driving licence is essential.
