I feel my who am I tells me a lot about myself. It shows my interest in certain tv shows and films and also things that affect me majorly in my personal life such as where I live and what animals I like.

These are the skills I have learnt in the first two terms of Year One. In the third term of Year 1, I focused on my final project. In that term, I further developed my skills in colour grading and set design.

In Year Two, I have expanded on the skills I had learnt in Year 1.

For my extended project, I focused on developing several skills. One of which is a skill I had worked on several times but then developed further. That was colour grading. I’m really interested in colour in films and have often experimented with colour to create different moods in scenes.

For the Briggs test, I got the Mediator. A week later, I got a Mediator. I think that confirms I’m a Mediator. Personally, when I first started taking the test, I didn’t believe in it. How can people be put into 16 categories? Everyone’s different. I for one hate being put into a category. I feel it boxes you in and it’s hard to escape. After taking the test, I’m still not convinced but can see in some ways the Mediator is like me.

In the first bit of college, I did some work experience with the company GamesAid. For this, I made a advert for it with two other students in my class. Doing this helped me with experience with working with a company. Although we didn’t work with them directly, we had a set task and things that needed to be included in the video. Overall it was fun working in a team and good experience. Outside of college, I have had work experience mostly in charity shops. This is helped me a lot with my customer service skills and generally talking to the public.

I couldn’t find many questionnaires to help me figure out what part of the media industry I would be best suited to. I did find “what role should you play in making a film?” on Playbuzz. It told me that I would be best being a director. This is probably is because the answers to the questions I answered were mostly about taking control of situations and if I liked to be in charge.

I think in the future, I would love to be a filmmaker. I mean this as a very general title but I feel if I was working on something small and low budget I would have to undertake many jobs within production.

I think being a director, your biggest skill would have to be leadership. I feel on my shorts in the past I have shown good leadership skills and have managed a small team very well. You also need vision and creative skills. I feel I am myself quite a creative person and I love coming up with new ideas. You also need a strong passion for filmmaking. I feel I also have this shown by the love I have put into my previous films and how much I have enjoyed doing them.
