Sara Dolnicar, Research Professor in Tourism, ARC Australian Laureate Fellow and Slovenian Ambassador of Science, The University of Queensland, AustraliaTitle of keynote speech: “How COVID-19 is changing peer-to-peer accommodation”

Sara Dolnicar is a Professor of Tourism at The University of Queensland. Her current research program develops and experimentally tests measures that trigger pro-environmental behaviour in tourists. She also continues to have an interest in peer-to-peer accommodation, an interest that has been reignited as a consequence of COVID-19. Professor Dolnicar currently serves as the Co-Editor in Chief of Annals of Tourism Research. She was awarded the Travel and Tourism Research Association Distinguished Researcher Award in 2017, and named the Slovenian Ambassador of Science in 2016, the highest honour the Republic of Slovenia bestows on expatriate Slovenian researchers in recognition of global excellence, impact, and knowledge transfer.

Marina Novelli, Professor of Tourism and International Development at Brighton Business School, University of Brighton, United Kingdom Title of keynote speech: "Niche Tourism and the quest for a better future"

Professor Marina Novelli (PhD) is an internationally renowned Tourism and International Development expert and Professor of Tourism and International Development at the University of Brighton (UK). With a background in economics, she has written and advised extensively in the field of international tourism policy, planning, development and management in Africa, Europe and Asia for institutions such as the World Bank, the EU, UNESCO, UNIDO, the UNWTO, the Commonwealth Secretariat,

the Millennium Challenge Corporation, National Ministries and Tourism Boards, Regional Development Agencies and NGOs. Prof. Novelli is committed to generating new knowledge on ways in which tourism can play a key role in sustainable development by stimulating local economies, conserving the environment, developing people and changing lives. She is known globally for her contribution to the concept of Niche Tourism, elaboration of the Overtourism concept and empirically grounded studies on sustainable tourism in Africa. Her work has demonstrated to have impact far beyond tourism by contributing to more effective economic growth, improved environments and more inclusive societies.

Cathy Hsu, Chair Professor at School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Title of keynote speech: “Tourism Research in a New Era”

Cathy Hsu is a Chair Professor in the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research foci include tourist behaviors and emotions, resident sentiment and stereotypes, and hospitality branding. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Tourism Management, and was the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Teaching in Travel and Tourism for 16 years. She received the John Wiley & Sons Lifetime Research Achievement Award in 2009 and International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators’ Martin Oppermann Memorial Award for Lifetime Contribution to Tourism Education in 2011.

Professor Dimitrios Buhalis is a renown keynote speaker at conferences and workshops around the world. Alfonso Vargas–Sánchez, Professor of Μanagement and Marketing, University of Huelva, Spain Title of keynote speech: “A new tourism governance for a new time?”

Alfonso Vargas-Sánchez is Full Professor at the Spanish University of Huelva, and he has headed its Research Group on "Innovation and Development Strategies in Tourist Firms" (GEIDETUR) during the period 2004-2016. His main research interests are in the Strategic Management discipline and in the tourism industry, both in companies and destinations management. Prof. Vargas-Sánchez has carried out academic activities in different Universities and higher education institutions around the world, in the five continents. Ian Yeoman, Professor of Tourism, Victoria University of Wellington, New ZealandTitle of keynote speech: “What is the Role of Science Fiction in Tourism Research? Theories, Disruption, Archetypes and the Futures”

Dr Ian Yeoman is an advocate for the future of tourism. He is an Associate Professor at Wellington School of Business and Government (New Zealand) and holds Visiting Professorship roles at the European Tourism Futures Institute (Netherlands) and Ulster University (United Kingdom). He is co-editor of the Journal of Tourism Futures and series editor of Channelviews Future of Tourism book series. He is author and editor of over 20 books, including the forthcoming Science Fiction, Disruption and Tourism which is the basis of his keynote. Ian has a PhD from Edinburgh Napier University and prior to moving to New Zealand in 2008, he was the Scenario Planner at VisitScotland leading on many projects include 9/11, visions, pandemics and tourist trends.

Dr. Stanislav Ivanov is Professor and Vice-Rector (Research) at Varna University of Management, Bulgaria and Director of Zangador Research Institute. Prof. Ivanov is the Founder and Editor-in-chief of two academic journals: European Journal of Tourism Research and ROBONOMICS: The Journal of the Automated Economy. His research interests include robonomics, robots in tourism/hospitality, the economics of technology, revenue management, destination marketing, tourism and economic growth, political issues in tourism, etc. His publications have appeared in different academic journals – Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management and other journals.

Cleopatra Veloutsou, Professor of Brand Management, Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, United KingdomTitle of keynote speech: “Service Failure, Service Recovery and Branding in Tourism”

Cleopatra Veloutsou is a Professor of Brand Management in the Adam Smith Business School of the University of Glasgow (UK), a Visiting Professor at the University of Bari (Italy), University of Bergamo (Italy), President University (Indonesia), Hellenic Open University (Greece) and University of Coibra (Portugal) and the Head of the Marketing Research Unit of the Athens Institute of Education and Research (ATINER) (Greece). Her primary research interest is on Brand Management and has published over 50 articles in International Journals and presented over 100 papers in International Academic Conferences. She is a co-editor of the Journal of Product and Brand Management since 2014, and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Research since 2019, serves on the editorial board of various academic Journals and has been involved in the organisation of many International Academics Conferences in Marketing and Brand Management.

Yaniv Poria, Professor of Heritage Tourism and Chair of the Department of Hotel & Tourism Management, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, IsraelTitle of keynote speech: “A critical apologetic assessment of heritage tourism studies”

Yaniv Poria’s research interests are focused on four core issues: (1) visitors' experience at heritage tourist sites; (2) special segments often ignored in the tourism literature, namely gays and lesbians and people with disabilities; (3) the conceptualization of “tourism”, particularly “heritage tourism”, and (4) sex in tourism. Currently, Prof. Poria is focusing on exploring the impacts of visits to heritage sites as well as on the management of heritage site interpretation. Yaniv’s studies were published in high quality tourism and hospitality journals such as: Journal of Travel Research, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Heritage Tourism, Journal of Travel and Tourism

Judy Kepher Gona, Founder and Director, Sustainable Travel & Tourism Agenda – STTA Consulting, KenyaTitle of keynote speech: “Inclusive Tourism – critique, challenges and opportunities in Africa”

Judy Kepher Gona is a thought leader in sustainable tourism with over 20 years’ experience championing responsible tourism in Africa and beyond. From setting up Africa’s first eco-tourism society to working with communities in tourism and conservation, developing, man-aging and being an assessor for several sustainable tourism recognition programs, Judy’s contribution to sustainable tourism transcends continents. In her past and present roles in boards of global and regional tourism organizations like The International Ecotourism Society, Global Sustainable Tourism Council, and Fair-Trade Tour-ism, she has made great contributions in shaping the practice of sustainable tourism. In 2018, Women Academics in Tourism (WAIT) recognized Judy among top 50 awesome scholars in tourism. In 2019, she was awarded the Sustainable Citizen Award by Forbes Woman Africa in recognition of outstanding contribution to awareness and knowledge of sustainability in tourism in Africa and beyond. In 2020, Centre for Responsible Tourism awarded a lifetime achievement award for her contribution to sustainable tourism. In the same year she was named amongst 40 global shakers in sustainable tourism. Judy is currently Director and Lead consultant at Sustainable Travel & Tourism Agenda (STTA), an organization she founded in 2013 to contribute and lead the modelling of a sus-tainable future for Africa’s tourism, mentor youth in sustainable tourism to ensure tomorrows tourism leaders are grounded in critical thinking and sustainable tourism knowledge; and finally, to support a global shift in tourism towards sustainability. She believes that a great tourism destination is one that turns attractions into assets to sup-port wealth creation for host communities, who in turn create experiences and welcome guests to share in their abundance. This is what will make great places to visit, great places for host commutes to live in.

Razaq Raj, Principal Lecturer for Research and Enterprise in Leeds Business School, Leeds Beckett University, United KingdomTitle of keynote speech: “Reflecting on the Importance of Religious Tourism: Impact of COVID-19 on Pilgrimage, Spirituality and Motivation”

Dr Razaq Raj is an internationally renowned academic with over twenty years higher education experience of teaching and research in UK, Malta, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany and China and South Korea. He is Principal Lecturer for Research and Enterprise and is a Visiting Professor at the Kedge Business School, France and Honorary Professor University of Vitez, Bosnia. He has published work on strategic management, economic and financial impacts, cultural festivals and sustainable tourism and religious tourism. He has both organised international conferences and delivered keynote speeches. He has published in a number of peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He is founding co-editor of the Journal

Karla Boluk, Associate Professor, Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies, University of Waterloo, CanadaTitle of keynote speech: “Centring Care: Possibilities for Minimising Harm in Tourism Post-vaccine”

Karla Boluk, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Waterloo in Canada. Utilizing a critical lens, Karla's scholarship investigates ways to sustainably engage and empower communities, positioning tourism as a mechanism for the creation of positive change. Her main research interests explore the role of tourism social entrepreneurs in progressing sustainability, specifically the SDGs, and investigating ways to

activate critical thinking in students, preparing graduates as critical tourism change agents.

Cihan Cobanoglu, McKibbon Endowed Chair Distinguished Professor, Director of M3 Center & Coordinator of International Programs for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, University of South Florida, U.S.A.Title of keynote speech: “The role of technology in Managing Tourism Organizations during the pandemic era”

Dr. Cihan Cobanoglu is the McKibbon Endowed Chair Professor of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHRM) in the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida (USF), who also serves as the Director of the M3 Center for Hospitality Technology and Innovation and Coordinator of International Programs for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. He is a renowned hospitality and tourism technology expert. Dr. Cobanoglu is a Fulbright Specialist commissioned by the Fulbright Commission which is part of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and World Learning (2018-2021). He is a Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP) commissioned by Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals (HFTP) and Educational Institute of American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA). He is the Editor of the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology (JHTT)(Indexed in SSCI IF=2.796), editor of Journal of Global Business Insights (JGBI), Journal of Global Hospitality and Tourism, associate editor of Tourism Review (SCCI IF=2.908) and a co-author of six books and ten conference proceedings.
