Larry & Regina Weaver Scholarship Pittsburg & St. Mary’s Colgan High School Graduates

Scholarship Overview:The purpose of the Larry & Regina Weaver scholarship is to provide a scholarship to a selected Pittsburg High School and a St. Mary’s Colgan graduating senior pursuing higher education at Pittsburg State University. Larry and Regina, both PSU alumni, dedicated their careers to education. Regina retired after a 30 year career as an educator with USD 250 and Larry was a 20 year PSU employee as an application developer. This scholarship seeks applicants who have shown excellence in academics, school and community involvement, and service to others. Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated caring and compassion toward others.

Scholarship Requirements:1. Applicants must be a graduating senior from Pittsburg High School or St.

Mary’s Colgan schools attending Pittsburg State University.2. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.2 or above.3. One-half of the scholarship will be awarded toward tuition prior to the

start of the fall semester and one-half at the start of the spring semester.4. Recipients are required to be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours

each semester in an academic program.5. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 or higher cumulative grade point average

for the first semester of college study to receive funds for the second semester.

6. Scholarship funds will be distributed through the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas directly to the institution of enrollment.

7. All applications MUST be typed.8. Any relative of the donor is not eligible to apply due to IRS regulations.9. Recipients must provide proof of enrollment to Pittsburg State University

prior to release of funds.

Application Instructions:Submit application cover page with all required information in the order listed, typed, one sided, and with no staples. Please return completed application to the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas. Applications must be postmarked, delivered electronically, or hand delivered no later than March 31.
