Human Computer Interaction (HCI) means how the public interact with computers and how they are or are not created well to interact successfully with a human. Before when this was first getting started it was not very successful because it was hard to use, however HCI computers have really involved in the world we live in today there for its much easier to use, have so many more function due to ideas expanding.

Development:

HCI has improved so much, for example devices such as phones, pc, computers and tablets have been upgraded in stats, there for it is more effective and faster but in addition to this they have gotten more compact and smaller so they have become such easier to carry around where as before devices would have weighted so much more and where really big there for it was not easy to carry around.

The very first portable computer was produced by Bill gates and Paul Allen, this was in 1975. However, they also worked together in order to create an operating system to Microsoft called MS-DOS.

A programming language was launched in 1981 which allowed for users to give the computer instructions, this programming language was named after C:.

Now days we have devices which are highly more advanced such as computers, TVs and DVD player, phones that can tell you the time, date, messages and everything else which an older phone would have however now days it has so much more for example other forms of communication, social networking sites, YouTube and twitch. When ever some one buys a mobile phone, they would always buy a phone with these functions and wouldn’t buy a brick phone for example Nokia brick as it wouldn’t have barely any function, it would be helpful to a person now days compared to what they use daily.

The brown box was the first console ever to be created, it was made in 1967 it started with about only 5 games, however some games had things such as guns even do they didn’t look realistic and there wasn’t any realistic killing or anything of that sort at that time I believe that it would have still effected cultures because religious people and also people of the community probably wouldn’t like the idea of children playing a game which has a gun which could be used to inflict pain there for it could make children more violent.

CLE

The command line editor in the computer can be used to do things such as give instruction for example it could be used to shut down a computer. This command line editor now days can be completely copied into a disk and inserted into other PC’s in order to make them do something this is known as malicious malware as it can be used in order to insert hacks into the device which could allow the hacker to invade your privacy and even control your PC.

Before most people couldn’t use a computer because they were complicated to use there for only people who knew command d line instruction could really fully function a computer where as now days its so simple.

We use technology pretty much everyday there so most people will know how to function these devices, this is because we all really focused in technology there for most people will be updated with the new Tec which gets released, its part of our daily lives to know how to use these technologies.

I believe this because most people are brought up into this world and from a very young age, they start using technology plus they get very addictive and become a part of you for example in 2019 almost everyone in the world will carry a phone on them which really knows how much we have developed as the technology is much easier to transport and to use.

WUI

Web user interfaces is what is used in order to accept inputs or provide outputs on a device it does this by generating web pages with a web browser program which the user visits.

Its used in order to say how commands are given to the computer or the program, this also determines how the information on screen is displayed.

GUI

This uses the computer components such as the graphics in order to make programs run smoothly and easier to use.

A graphical user interface is the thing which allows you to communicate and control a device an example of these are ™, Mac OSX, Chrome OS and Android.

With any of these you are able to control a device with the use of visuals and boxes (Software or apps) and the pointer which you control with the use of a keyboard and mouse or finger if its touch screen.

Society:

For example, instead of having so many workers in shops they added self-service tills in supermarkets which has really been shown to be very effective. Another example is online banking and automated factories.

Yes, all this sound great and really efficient however everything has a down side to it for example all this is making people less interactive with each other reducing the amount of time you will spend with humans and talking to people which can lead to things such as depression and further problems in society in addition to this you never know how people will feel with the idea of doing their work beside a robot/ AI. Furthermore, because technology is evolving so rapidly AI are starting to steadily take over people’s jobs especially jobs which are repetitive for example cooking; making a burger or a dish.

HCI has allowed for more people to be able to use the technology as it’s so much easier to use than it was back in the older days of when HCI was new. This is things such as computers, mobile phones, tablets and televisions which have all been made to be easier to use due to updates however it also adds new functions which make the device even more useful for example they created touch screen devices another example is Google which created a voice search in the year 2008 for apps for mobile phones. This means that users have more option of how to add inputs rather than just being able to type it in, this further emphasises my point that they have evolved HCI which makes things much easier to use for the public.

However, voice recognition technology still has a long way to go this is because it still finds it hard to recognize some accents there for it still isn’t useful for all people in society another reason why public don’t use voice recognition too is because if you used it whilst people are around it would look weird as your talking to your phone and also they would know what you are researching because they hear you, a way to fix this problems maybe later when technology is even more advanced they might be able to control the device by only using the idea of thinking instead of voice itself for example it would think open YouTube and it would be put into the input.

Because of technology disabled people’s lives are being transformed and improved. This is because they would have to always rely on others to help and support them in pretty much everything for example being able to control their own house just with their voice. They have also made it possible to control a mouse of a computer with using just their eyes, this is own as “EyeGaze technology”.

The reason why this technology is revolutionary is because it will help people that don’t have hands for example so wouldn’t be able to troll the computer however with this new function of using your eyes as the mouse and being able to gives function by talking to the pc for example open a program.

Because of things such as Leap motion technology I believe that people in the future will be using a screen like VR headset however to see the screen instead but then you would be able to control your device by just using your hands and wouldn’t actually need to touch the screen of the device, however this might be super weird as people would be using hand gestures whilst using their devices however I believe that in a many years’ people would find it normal.

Economy:

Because of the increasement in development in computers and other features which are linked to technology it has changed the economy which was known before because of the way the economy operates now for example, because of technology its enables faster production of things which

means that it would gain the company lots of profit because of the rapid growth of products which then means that it would end up reducing the pricing of things because there would be lots of them.

This also links to the idea of self-service tills and machines which cook for you which means that it will increase the productivity and reduce the costs for business this is because they wouldn’t need as many people working in a store because people could use the self-service tills and for the cooking one they wouldn’t need many people working there because the machine would cook and watch by it self all the customer would have to do is choose its order on a machine for example like MacDonald you are able to choose your order though that machine and all the worker would have to do is get the food when its finished cooking and give it to the customer there for the business would be making lots of profit in the long run because they wouldn’t need to pay for chefs to work in the kitchen.

Automation has really increased meaning that things can get done automatically with the use of machines, there for you won’t need to have as many workers however this would mean that many people may lose their jobs after most things start getting automated. This will make technology even more impactful and important for the future of our world and make IT and programming a very important subject because it could basically be used in most things in most company’s and different things.

This will all link to automatic judgement of output because it will make sure everything is accurate because its being made by a machine there for its got a low risk of it making a mistake unless it gets a bug, however overall it will reduce amount of time it takes to manufacture products and save money for does business as they won’t need as many workers as they have now working for them.

Voice inputs is used in company’s in order to advertise and in order to make things easier for the company for example if you call a bank it asks you what you need so it takes you straight to the right line in order to talk about what you need with someone who knows.

Thought inputs is something really common and really useful for use this is because if you typed in something into the internet for example and there are no searches or is typed in wrong it will ask you did you mean this, and then gives you some options which shows that the device can make decisions for us without us even realizing it. However, this function is super useful for so many reasons because it makes our lives easier.

So overall our economy is really evolving however it can also be seen as a bad thing for some people because there will be lost of jobs almost 100% there for people will be getting replaced for robots, however overall it is super good for economy due to the speed and productivity of everything.

Culture:

HCI is really changing our culture and life’s, this is because technology gets closer to us due to our use of it, there for everyday we function with it we become better with using it and learn and create new features to further help us during our daily lives. This means that we are all getting really close/ connect with our technology making it literally part of our lives.

An example which shows that, is mobile phones this is because now days they are literally able to do more than what a computer could before which shows how far we have gone with our technology for example phones and other devices.

Because of HCI people have become more knowledgeable about other cultures this is because of things such as watching movies and documentaries which talk about other cultures, because of HCI different cultures are also able to communicate due to translator there for you are able to understand and communicate easier with others.

Gaming has impacted culture too due to games having a wide range of languages on video games there for people from all over the world of all cultures are able to communicate on video games. Further more it has allowed for pro play across worlds getting the best players in the world for example league of legends they have tournaments vs other countries and teams in order to show who has the best teamwork and who are the best gamers in the world.

Deskilling work means replacing somebody’s job there for people will be replaced for machines which will be able to do their jobs for cheaper and more efficiently, however this will effect the culture because it will increase the level of people unemployed in addition to this it will makes does people feel bad because they will feel like their work didn’t matter because they get replaced by machines making them feel worthless.

Developing nation is behind compared to other nation in technology and other stuff because they are poorer in comparison to other countries there for it would have bad level of technology.

This then would make live for poorer counties even harder than it already is for them, another reason is because nations which are evolving and have more money will have lots more waste which would contain chemicals which could affect the heath of residents.

There for it will always have a negative no matter what however there are also advantages for others, however do the advantages equalize the negatives?
