Many renovation dedication opportunities are still available, including benches for the main shul at $1800 each. Please contact Michael Garber or Norman Heyden for details. If you have not yet contributed, it is definitely not too late. We need everyone’s support!

As the tax year ends, please consider paying any outstanding dedications promptly. If you were planning to pay a portion of your dedication next year or in subsequent years, please consider accelerating your payment(s) into this year.

Since last week’s update : The platform in the women’s section and the mechitza in the main shul were removed this past week and temporary mechitza panels were installed.

Work has begun to prepare the walls in the main shul for painting, including repairing cracks in the sheetrock and replacing sheetrock that was behind heating elements on the side wall in the women’s section. Painting of the main shul will begin next week.

All of the pieces of wood for the Aron Kodesh have been delivered to Mr. Fligelman for staining. That work should be completed next week.

A damaged conduit carrying wires behind the Aron Kodesh was repaired.

It is expected that all of the new mechitza panels will be delivered to the shul next week. All the sheets of tempered glass (eight in total) upon which the bus film will be applied will also be delivered next week.

MESSAGE FROM THE RENOVATIONS COMMITTEE

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE OHAV EMETH WEBSITE COMMITTEEAt this time, we would like to invite our members to create accounts on the new Congregation Ohav Emeth website (www.ohavemeth.org), hosted by ShulCloud. ShulCloud, an established system that hosts several hundred synagogue websites and back-office operations, is quite secure.

Briefly, login access to the website will allow you to do the following:

Review your financial account with the Shul and make payments to the Shul via Credit Card or PayPal Review and edit your family’s profile, including names and ages of family members, yahrtzeit reminders,

and other personal information

In order to get access, just email the website administrator at admin@ohavemeth.org and make sure to include your name. If both spouses in a 2-adult family would like access, each should email the administrator separately. Each spouse will be able to access the full account. The administrator will activate your account and you will be sent an email invitation to set your password and log onto the site.

For now, the gabbai will continue to maintain the yahrtzeit lists that are used in shul. The yahrtzeits in ShulCloud will be used to generate reminder letters prior to the date of the yahrtzeit, as we currently do.

For now, the shul office will continue to maintain the shul email list for announcements and other broadcasts. If you are not on the email list and would like to be, please contact the office separately.

In the future, the site will also enable you to sign up for events, reserve High Holiday seats, sign up for Torah reading, and other functions not possible on our old site.

You may be receiving this email as a nonmember. Account access is currently being offered to members and associate members only.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF BOOK RACKS ON THE NEW BENCHESIt is imperative that everyone fully understand how to use the new book racks that will be attached to the back of each of the new benches to avoid damaging them. The current book racks on the benches in the main shul are raised or lowered by moving the wood mechanism below the racks. All of the book racks on the new benches are raised or lowered by holding onto them with one or two hands and moving them either in an upward or downward direction. DO NOT REACH UNDERNEATH THE NEW BOOK RACKS AND PULL ON THE MECHANISM. PULLING ON THE MECHANISM BELOW THE NEW BOOK RACKS WILL DAMAGE THE MECHANISM. When the new benches are installed in January please help others by demonstrating how to properly raise or lower the rack. Please contact Norman Heyden or Michael Garber with any questions.
