May 1 is the Last Day to Add or Drop 4-H Projects for the Current Year!! Contact Your Club Leader or The Extension Office to request updates.
After our April 16th 4-H member enrollment deadline, we have 464 youth and 101 adult volunteer leaders enrolled in the San Juan County 4-H program. Thanks to our club organizational leaders for your efforts to get forms to our office. We want to also remind members that the last day to add or drop 4-H projects is May 1.
Our senior shooting sports members will be competing at their state event at the NRA Whittington Center near Raton the first week of May. We wish them will as they pursue top team and individual recognition! Novice and junior air rifle, archery and shotgun members will soon begin qualifying rounds for their county competitions. The top competitors will move on to the NW District Shooting Sports contests to be held in Albuquerque on June 21, the day after Northern District General Contests in Moriarty June 19 and 20.
Graduating high school seniors, who are current 4-H members, are encouraged to apply for our San Juan County Bill Nye Memorial 4-H scholarship. Two recipients will each receive a $500 scholarship. The application can be found on our county website and will be mailed directly to high school seniors.
The 4-H Hoofbeat Gang will be hosting a Horse Camp May 28 and 29 at McGee Park.
