DESCRIPTION

Welcome,Readers of WSN Magazine!Welcome to the fine print and our 5th issue!I am eternally grateful to all the companies, web series and websites that are responsible for supporting WSN. The first WSN magazine was published back in April 2011, but I’ve been covering the web series industry since 2009 through our thriving online community at http:// webseriesnetwork.com and can say that much has improved over the years. Shorter webisodes are still relevant, but more and more content creators have transitioned into producing longer web programming that rivals television. Quality and production value is through the roof, and web series is no longer foreign to the general public. I am proud to be involved in web series entertainment and our objective via WSN magazine and webseriesnetwork.com is to continue to celebrate and foster web series, everything it represents and the people that make it all happen. Involved or desire to be involved in web series entertainment? Email me at [email protected] the issue and keep making web shows! Welcome to the fine print and our 5th issue!

I am eternally grateful to all the companies, web series and websites that are responsible for supporting WSN. The first WSN magazine was published back in April 2011, but I’ve been covering the web series industry since 2009 through our thriving online community at http://webseriesnetwork.com and can say that much has improved over the years. HOT TOPICS ON WSN

LAWEBFESTIS IT THE NEXTSUNDANCE?WSN MAGAZINETHINKS SO!It’s April 2012 and I am honored to be invited to participate on the ‘Global Influence of Web Series’ panel at Los Angeles Web Series FestivaL, an annual three-day event that is shaping up to be the next Sundance Film Festival, in WSN magazine’s opinion. LAWEBFEST as it’s called is a showcase for new and existing work from American and International filmmakers who create, develop and produce original shows that will air online and could possibly expand into traditional outlets, including television, film, comic books and video games. The festival began in Los Angeles in 2010 in an effort to give content owners a platform to show their work. In just three years, it has outgrown its inaugural venue, a small theater in Los Angeles into the Radisson Hotel at LAX, a major international branded hotel with more than 420 locations in 73 countries. This year 178 shows submitted by creators worldwide have been selected to screen at the festival, which also attracts content buyers from around the world who are looking to leverage web shows for their markets. People who have long built strong relationships with their peers online will get a chance to meet one another face-to-face, shake hands, network and build upon existing relationships. Industry ex-perts will attend to conduct workshops and offer expertise, tips and advice on the business of web series. WSN magazine is excited to cover the popular festival, so be sure to check our next issue which will run July-September 2012 for exclusive photos and interviews. To quote the LAWEBFEST founder Mike Ajakwe before signing off… “don’t wait, create!” So what do you think? Think LAWEBFEST could rival Sundance? Send me an email with your thoughts. - Rich Mbariket | [email protected]
