Before following these quick-start instructions, please ensure your equipment with EGX300 is already installed and connected to your local area network (LAN). Follow the steps below for final commissioning and to gain instant access to power system information.

Please take this quick-start guide to your Network Administrator to obtain the necessary network information, and enter it in the spaces below for future reference.

NOTE: Equipment with EGX300 is designed for standard 100BaseTX (100 Mbps) twisted-pair Ethernet LANs. To ensure compatibility with slower (10 Mbps) networks or fiber-optic LANs (Media Type “Other” above), please contact your local Schneider Electric sales office.

1. Connect a standard Ethernet cable from your PC to the equipment’s front-accessible Ethernet port.NOTE: Record the current IP address and subnet mask of your PC before proceeding.

2. On your PC, for the EGX300, set a static IP address of 169.254.0.11 and a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0.NOTE: If you are unsure how to do this, search Windows® Help for keywords “assign a static IP address“, “IPConfig“, and “WinIPcfg“, or contact your Network Administrator for assistance.

3. Reboot your PC, if necessary.4. Start your Internet browser.

NOTE: Microsoft® Internet ExplorerTM version 6.0 or higher is recommended.

5. In the URL Address field, type the equipment’s IP Address, and press Enter. The Login Page will display.NOTE: For the EGX300, the default IP address is 169.254.0.10.

6. Enter your Password, and click Log In. The Home page will appear.NOTE: For the EGX300, the default ID and password are Administrator and Gateway, respectively (both case sensitive).

7. To set the network communication parameters, click Setup for the EGX300. Set the COM1 or Serial Port parameters to Physical Interface to RS485 2-wire, Transmission Mode to Automatic, Baud Rate to 19200, and Parity to Even.

8. Enter the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway (router) information gathered in Step 1 into the appropriate fields (leave Media Type set to 10T/100TX Auto), and click Update or Apply.

9. Reset your PC back to its original network configuration.

NOTE: For the EGX300, the default ID and password are Administrator and Gateway, respectively (both case sensitive).

4. Welcome to your new Web pages. You can now access real-time power system data at any time from any computer on your network!
