The following rules apply throughout this Service Manual:

1. Each chapter contains sections explaining the purpose of specific functions and the relationship between electrical and mechanical systems with reference to the timing of operation.

In the diagrams, represents the path of mechanical drive; where a signal name accompanies the symbol, the arrow indicates the direction of the electric signal. The expression "turn on the power" means flipping on the power switch, closing the front door, and closing the delivery unit door, which results in supplying the machine with power.

2. In the digital circuits, '1' is used to indicate that the voltage level of a given signal is "High", while '0' is used to indicate "Low". (The voltage value, however, differs from circuit to circuit.) In addition, the asterisk (*) as in "DRMD*" indicates that the DRMD signal goes on when '0'.

In practically all cases, the internal mechanisms of a microprocessor cannot be checked in the field. Therefore, the operations of the microprocessors used in the machines are not discussed: they are explained in terms of from sensors to the input of the DC controller PCB and from the output of the DC controller PCB to the loads.

The descriptions in this Service Manual are subject to change without notice for product improvement or other purposes, and major changes will be communicated in the form of Service Information bulletins. All service persons are expected to have a good understanding of the contents of this Service Manual and all relevant Service Information bulletins and be able to identify and isolate faults in the machine.

■ PDF File: The Web Browser Kit's display capabilities are identical in level to those of Acrobat and Acrobat Reader 6.0.PDF file size to be displayed is up to 10Mbyte. Any bigger file than that cannot be displayed. When displaying PDF on the screen, whether the linked file is PDF or not is determined by judging the 3 conditions; MIME type, header data of file and file extension (.pdf) and if any of them applies, it is determined as PDF file.

■ Flash Content Flash content supports for the display. It enables to display the content of Flash version 6.

■ Java Applet: The Web Browser Kit does not support display associated with a Java applet.

■ URL entry: URL can be input up to 255byte.It is always necessary to input the domain as there is no function to automatically add the domain of the host servers. If other character than http://, https:// or file:// is input at a head of URL input, "http://" will be automatically attached.Since this uses 7 byte, if 255 byte characters are input from the software keyboard, the last 7 byte will be deleted.

■ History of URL entry: Latest URLs input can be stored and maintained up to 10.Different 10 URLs are stored and same addresses are not included in the count. If using 'file://' schema to specify the local directory, it is not registered in the history.History of URL entry can be deleted by executing 'History All Clear' operation.

■ Storage of displayed page: This web browser can store up to 10 pages including the currently displayed page. You can move between those pages by clicking a button of 'Back' or 'Go'.

Canceling PrintingPressing the cancel button during printing does not change the print settings back to the default. Pressing the reset key while the printing dialogue is displayed has no effect on the operation.

Redundant Image in Printing Across Multiple Sheets When printing an HTML page, it is possible that the page does not fit within a single sheet of paper and will be printed across multiple sheets of paper. When this happens, the image 75 dots from the lower end will be printed again in the upper end of the next sheet. This is a function established in order to prevent loss of information, for example, the case when a text is cut off in the middle at the end of a sheet. Regardless of a cut off text at the end of sheet, however, the image at the lower end will be repeated at the top of the next sheet at all times. The lower end image of the last sheet will is not printed in the following sheet.

Importing and Exporting My Favorite SitesOnce registered as a My Favorite Site, Web page information may be exported to a PC using a remote UI. Or, such page information may be imported to an iR machine from a PC.Importing and exporting procedures are similar to those of, for instance, address books. The data format of imported and exported Favorites is a unique text format.Favorites stored in the Internet Explorer and such cannot be directly imported.

For exporting, all Favorite data will be exported altogether. For importing, the existing Favorite data will be overwritten. New entry will not be simply added. Importing and exporting cannot be carried out when the Web browser is being used to access contents and also during printing. Also importing cannot be accomplished properly when the data format of imported data is not the specified text format.
