There are potential DwC opportunities when …
1. I am drilling short conductor/surface casing
2. I plan to batch-drill
3. The section will encounter loss circulation and need to save mud cost
4. I have trouble getting casing or liner to TD, reaming before running casing is standard practice
5. I am drilling through high pressure zone into low pressure reservoir or weak zone
6. When running in casing to seafloor I have trouble finding the predrilled hole
7. I can use non-retrievable DwC as the section doesn’t require logging or steering

• DwC in 13-3/8” and 9-5/8” sections. Best performance record achieved when drilling to 355m TD in 10.6hrs• Average on-bottom ROP was 33 m/hr and median section drilling time is 14.9hrs. • Casing bit was drilled out with conventional PDC bit in 10-15mins. Total time drilling shoe track was 30-60mins• In the last 406m interval, operator managed to complete DwC in 14.75hrs, saving 47% drilling time compare to

RwC System Salvaged Client’s Well Date: 13 March 2013
Client: Shell Ukraine
Location: Kharkiv Region
Formation : Claystone & Sandstone
Hole Size: 12-1/4”
Casing: 9 7/8”, 66.9#, Q125R, Vam Top
Reaming Interval: 1800m - 3274m
Flow Rate: 194 - 211 gpm
Torque: 12 - 20k ft-lbs. (21,000 connection limit)
Value to Client
RwC™ system enabled casing to be set at planned TD where conventional methods proved unsuccessful by various operators
The client value for this project was estimated to be in excess of $1.0M, for eliminating the cost of plugging and abandoning this well and eliminating 8 months’ time for contingency operations.

Case History 5
Previously spent over 3 months trying
unsuccessfully to complete the section,
each time TD was reached the drill string could not
be freely pulled out of the hole, requiring several days and sometimes
weeks for back-reaming.

Case History 1
Apache China Batch DwC Performance
The 13-3/8” DwC operation was carried out without incident or accident
All 24 wells reached planned casing setting depths. Drilled a total of 6149m in 12.8 days.
Average DwC distance was 256m to 296m MD.
Drilled and cemented final 8 wells totaling 2017m in the last 2.7 days, ~ 3 wells per day.
The DwC operation saved 23.3 days rig time or 65% versus plan. $1.5 MM US saved.
Cemented through the DwC spear as planned.
