Fall is in the air, and with it comes a deluge of seasonal delights and nostalgic associations. Here’s our ode to autumn for only $74.99 plus tax. The wines come in a stylish Wine Authorities tote!

Domaine de la Chauviniere, Brut Nature "Bretesche 1387" {organic} 100% Melon de Bourgogne BONE DRY, ELEGANTLY SENSUAL, A MINERALLY MONOLITH Like a bleakly beautiful black & white photograph of a wintery Atlantic beachscape, this methode traditionelle bubbly is a captivating study in contrast – elegantly austere yet captivating and seductive, gleaming brightly with an oceanic sheen and minerally shimmer. Muscadet maestro, Jérémie Huchet of Domaine de la Chauvinière continuously reinforces Muscadet’s identity as one of the world's most pristine, restrained whites. A Wine Authorities exclusive! Serving Suggestion: Oysters, of course! Other (cooked or raw) bivalves will be just as eagerly accompanied. Sashimi abalone, conch, and surf clam are naturals...

Domaine Robert Serol, Viognier "De Butte en Blanc", Cote Roannaise, Loire Valley, France, 2012 {sustainable} 100% Viognier JUICY APRIUM & CLEAN TROPICAL FRUIT, WISPY FLORAL & MINERAL NOTES Viognier, the champion white grape of the northernmost reaches of the Rhone Valley inspires passion, and its rarity only serves to enhance our desire for it. This Roannaise offering from Stéphane Serol is tirelessly true to the grape's heritage and potential for elegance, showing clarity and subtlety in addition to exoticism and concentration. Tropical and slick-skinned stone fruit merge with delicate floral notes, and clean mineral springiness. Serving Suggestion: Duck breast w/ plum jelly & smashed potatoes. Gravlax & a hearty salad comprised of arugula, ripe bell peppers, chickpeas, & vidalia onion.

Quinta de Sant'Ana, Rosé, Lisboa, Portugal 2014 {sustainable} Pinot Noir, Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Merlot TART CHERRY & GOJI BERRY, PALATE-PLEASING (& TEASING!) ACIDITY The Sant’Ana estate is very small (less than 20 acres!) and lovingly manages its vineyards to impressive effect. This Rosé, while filled with bold red fruit, has a razory precision which jumpstarts the palate, invigorates the appetite, and refreshes the soul. No joke.

Serving Suggestion: Spicy stewed eggplant w/ tomato, sesame seeds, & chili garlic paste (don’t get to crazy w/ the heat). Stir-fried salt cod w/ onions, egg batter, rice, & olives.

Viña Aliaga, Syrah, Navarra, Spain 2010 100% Syrah GLEAMING PURPLE BERRIES, PEPPERY SPICE Syrah in southern Navarra is a long way from home, but this arid stretch of Spain is an excellent match for the Northern Rhone's lone black grape. Brimming with powerful ripe berryish fruit, spicy aromatic intrigue, and a punch of youthfully balancing acidity, this offering from Carlos Aliaga is a reminder that in spite of his traditional and very long-lived reds, the man has a clearly defined adventurous side, driving him to work with grapes which inspire his passions even when those grapes have very little precedent in Navarra. A Wine Authorities exclusive! Serving Suggestion: Jamón Serrano w/ lightly pickled cherry peppers. Succulent roast leg of mutton w/ halved onions, hazelnuts, & mushrooms.

J. Mourat, Fiefs Vendéens Mareuil Rouge "Ch Marie du Fou", Loire Valley, France 2013 {organic} Old vine Pinot Noir, Negrette, and Cabernet Franc BRAMBLY LOGANBERRY, AUTUMNAL UNDERBRUSH, CHARRED GREEN PEPPER SKINS As deeply purple as the shale soil that feeds its vines, the "Marie du Fou" cuvée takes its name mysteriously from a colloquial French phrase that is applied to carefree country girls. While there is arguably a kind of feminine intrigue that is demure, yet chiseled and no shortage of terroir-driven suggestions of unspoiled countryside, we find this red to be more measured and elegant than “carefree.” Speaking of unspoiled countryside, Serving Suggestion: Cream of mushroom stew w/ chicken thigh, celery, & bell pepper. Burritos w/ sour cream, avocado, tomato, & cannellini beans.

Autumn Pack 2015!

Fall is in the Air!

Terrabianca, Dolcetto d'Alba “Brichet", Piemonte, Italy 2013 100% Dolcetto WILD BERRY, PLUM GIVING WAY TO PRUNE, HEADY HERBS This richer, more full-bodied example of Dolcetto from Terrabianca is a vivacious and approachable wine, but with added depth, length, and maturity thanks to fruit from 70-90 year old vines, The name "Brichet" derives from Bricco, which relates to the most advantageously sunny part of a hillside vineyard. Abounding with red and black fruit, it’s tempered by herbal notes that speak more of wilderness than backyard garden. Serving Suggestion: "Red Sauce" Italian-American food. Eggplant parmesan, Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Spaghetti alla Vongole, pebbled glass candle holders, red and white checked tablecloth.
