Through our exclusive partnership with the Post Office we are becoming one of the UK’s fastest growing financial services providers, with c. 3 million customers. We also have two other successful partnerships with the Post Office: our foreign exchange joint venture, under the First Rate brand, which is the largest provider of consumer foreign exchange in the UK; and we are the largest operator of ATMs in the UK with c.2,400 machines installed across the Post Office network. Our partnership with the Post Office is flourishing because we have been able to successfully align our brand values. Our service is about innovation and offering a new way of delivering products that meet consumer needs. It is a partnership that is challenging the big UK retail and commercial banks, by offering consumers a genuine and accessible alternative that they can trust.

In Northern Ireland, we operate a full service, Bank of Ireland branded, retail and commercial branch network with 36 branches. We also have a very successful car and asset finance business, NIIB, which is based in Northern Ireland and operates throughout the UK.

Whilst on the Bank of Ireland UK programme, you’ll complete three placements in different businesses across our key UK locations London,

Bristol & Belfast. We aim to give you diverse experiences in customer and business development roles, as well as within our corporate functions such as Risk & Strategic Planning so that you gain a deep and rounded understanding of our business & strategy as well as developing both your technical knowledge and interpersonal skills.

In a customer role, you may spend time working in our Business Banking relationship management teams or customer advisory roles in our Northern Ireland Branch network where you will develop your knowledge of our customer propositions, distribution channels, customer service and business development activity. Or you may work on a Product Team within Consumer Banking where you’ll learn how to develop competitive products across our broad product range which includes Current Accounts, Savings, Mortgages, Credit Cards & Insurances, undertake competitor analysis, develop pricing plans, delivering the desired customer experience and supporting the sales and marketing activity. There will also be opportunities for rotations within our asset financing business NIIB, and our joint venture company First Rate Exchange Services.
