A)  Science fiction always created fantastic universes filled with multiple kinds of technology. !B)  In Matrix movie trilogy (1999-2003), we saw some characters connecting their minds/

bodies into a cyberspace to fight against an army of sentient machines.!

C)  The music quartet Kraftwerk have used robots with plastic human heads in the stage

during presentations.!

D)  We can see science fiction in our reality. We can see reality in science fiction.!

A)  We are living an intense relationship with codes.!B)  Our existence is based on codes.!

C)  The internet is an ambient full of codes.!

D)  Internet is a space of multiple connections between human and non-human.!

3.TECHNOLOGY!

A)  Technology as second nature in the present days.!B)  Technology as the “shell of a snail”.1 !

A)  Nets, sensors, objects, gadgets and multiple devices that amplifies the communication between individuals-individuals, individuals-objects and objects-objects. Things “feeling”

other things mediating actions between them and humans. 1 !

5.WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY!

For the purpose of this presentation, we understand that wearable technology has some elementary features: !

A)  is wearable (bands, glasses, ear plugs, clothes, shoes, necklaces etc.), digital and that

hybridizes to the user’s body, establishing a human/non-human relationship processing.!

B)  Connects itself to the internet, sensors or other devices transmitting user’s body

information to another platform!C)  Has a hardware (the device per se) and a software (a mobile application or a social

network website).!

D)  The devices in this category are made up of microprocessors and microcontrollers.!

E)  Two areas to highlight: fitness and healthcare.!

The wearable techs area is a rich field to explore some communication and consumption ideas. It is a very promising market with very optimistic projections. Juniper Research

Institute points that in 2019 this market will generate U$ 53 billions of revenues1. Today, most

part of wearable devices fit in sport or health area, but it is possible to imagine a wide use

for this kind of technology in a near future.!
