Background
•THE ARMY CURRENTLY HAS THREE SERVICE UNIFORMS;
GREEN, BLUE, AND WHITE.
•TO STREAMLINE THE NUMBER OF UNIFORMS SOLDIERS
PURCHASE AND MAINTAIN THROUGHOUT THEIR CAREERS,
THE ARMY WILL PHASE OUT THE GREEN AND WHITE
SERVICE UNIFORMS AND RETAIN THE BLUE SERVICE
UNIFORM AS OUR ASU.
•THE MANDATORY POSSESSION DATE FOR THE NEW ASU
ITEMS IS 4TH QUARTER, FY 2014.

Appearance
• Nails: Females will not wear shades of
lipstick and nail polish that distinctly contrast with their complexion. extreme colors include, but are not limited to, purple,gold, blue, black, white, bright (fire-engine) red, khaki, camouflage colors, and fluorescent colors. Soldiers will not apply designs to nails or apply two-tone or multi-tone colors to nails.
• Hair:
• Earrings: Earrings may be screw-on, clip-on, or post-type earrings, in gold, silver, white pearl, or diamond. The earrings
• will not exceed 6 mm or 1⁄4 inch in diameter,
and they must be unadorned and spherical

US Army Class A Uniform (‘blues’)
More formal than class-B’s; wear of jacket. E-5 and above have gold ‘piping’ on
trousers. Beret is worn for non-formal events and garrison caps are worn for formal
events.
