TAPA PARKING SECURITY REQUIREMENTS 2017

WE WANT TO DRIVE BUSINESS YOUR WAY

ABOUT TAPA The Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) was launched in 1997 to help Manufacturers and Logistics Service Providers minimise cargo losses from their supply chains.

Today, TAPA has hundreds of leading brand member companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), the Americas and Asia Pacific regions.

TAPA members benefit from:

Cargo crime alerts

Incident intelligence to help manage risk

Industry leading Security Standards for facilities and trucking

Security Standards Training

Networking events

Best in class

Our Facility Security Requirements (FSR) and Trucking Security Requirements (TSR) are now respected as the leading industry standards for supply chain security.

In 2017, we are adding a new Standard – the TAPA Parking Security Requirements (PSR).

Our Manufacturer and Logistics Service Provider members need more secure parking places

in Europe that provide a suitable level of security.

TAPA’s Parking Security Requirements will be the

new industry standard, giving our members confidence in parking locations with this certification.

The greatest threat to high value/theft targeted products occurs when they

are on the road when trucks are parked in unsecured parking places when drivers take mandatory rest breaks.

Over 90% of all crimes recorded by TAPA’s Incident Information Service (IIS) now involve criminal attacks on trucks. In Europe alone, this involves multiple incidents every day, resulting in losses of millions of Euros of products every year. Cargo crime in the EMEA region is now at its highest level in 20-years.

How we plan to promote secure parking sites

TAPA’s secure parking programme will include a new online parking tool to help members identify TAPA-approved parking locations when they are planning their transportation programmes.

Parking Place Operators that share our commitment to supply chain security will be promoted to our members to encourage them to

ABOUT TAPA

PHASE 12017There are three ways you can participate in TAPA’s secure parking programme:

Self-CertificationThe entry level is based on a self-certification audit and the issuing of TAPA certification that is valid for 3 years. Your site will be included in TAPA’s online secure parking tool for the Association’s members and TAPA will conduct sample audits of self-certified sites.

Parking Security PartnerYou complete a TAPA standard template and sign a declaration that basic security controls are in place. Your location is promoted via our online secure parking tool and your membership of the programme is renewed annually.

Mutual RecognitionYour parking site meets the requirements of other accredited parking security schemes that have been pre-approved by TAPA. You will be automaticallyawarded a TAPA Certificate after producing evidence of your compliance with another TAPA-approved scheme. Your site will be included in our online secure parking tool.

PHASE 22018

In 2018, as the network of TAPA Certified secure parking sites grows, in addition to the Entry Level, we will introduce a Full Certification programme with three levels and TAPA Parking Security Requirements (PSR) Certification by Independent Audit Bodies. Information on participation and potential costs will be shared before this phase of the programme commences.

SO, HOW CAN YOU JOINOUR NETWORK?

In 2016, TAPA’s Incident Information Service (IIS) recorded the highest number of cargo crimes in EMEA in the Association’s 20-year history. Less than 50% of these crimes reported a loss value but these alone cost companies some €80 million. Over 40% of all incidents occurred when trucks stopped at unsecured parking locations.

Our members need access to a network of TAPA-certified secure parking sites across Europe and we hope you will see the benefits of participating. You will not be asked to pay any fee to TAPA to join our programme.

MEMBERS OF THE TAPA EMEA SECURE PARKING WORKING GROUP

As the leading industry-recognised authority on transportation security, TAPA will actively promote secure parking sites to its growing membership through the launch of a new online parking tool. This is how you can ensure your site is visible to hundreds of new customers...

WHAT TO DO NEXT…

TAPA’s Parking Security Requirements (PSR) are open to all Parking Place Operators.

You will not be asked to pay a fee to TAPA to participate in phase 1 of our secure
