Listen To Your Stripper

When stripping coax, do not turn your tool around as though it were a propeller.

As you rotate your tool, listen to the cutting of the braid and when it stops talking to you, turn another 1/8 to a 1/4 turn, open tool and remove the stripper. When rotating, be sure the hand that is holding the cable is supporting the cable immediately next to the tool. Allow no cable play!

This RJ45 connector is a single connector solution for Cat5e/6/6A cables. Features a unique integrated Hi-Lo stagger load bar that allows ‘big’ conductors to pass through the front end of the connector making it easy to verify the wiring sequence before terminating.

The ezEX™44 connector is typically used with Cat5e/6 cable and the ezEX™48 with Cat6A.

Something is not right with the connectors

It’s the little things that you have to look out for when you’re doing a big project. When you get your spool of Cat6 cable and your bags of connectors, prep a cable end and prepare to terminate it with a con-nector, you expect to finish the job easily, right? But then you find that the cable outer jacket doesn’t fit in the connector, and you can’t crimp it. Or the conductors are too big, packing in too tightly on the way to the contact punch-downs. 2) Bend the cable where it is scored and the cable jacket will ‘pop’ and break away. Remove it but do NOT throw it away. This is your FREE pair separator!

1) Remove 1 1/2” to 2” of your cable jacket from your cable using the Cat5e/6 Cable Jacket Stripper, P/N 15015. Rotate stripper 1 to 2 turns, enough to score the jacket without cutting through it, to prevent nicking the conductors.

EZ-RJ45® Termination

3) Separate pair ends at tip. Place your free pair separator over one of the conductor ends of each pair and push/rotate in opposite direction of the twist, separating each pair.

4) Straighten each pair, removing all the bends/kinks.

5) Determine whether you will be using the T568A or T568B configuration (above) and organize wires accordingly. Line up your wires and make a clean cut across all 8 conductors with P/N 10517 leaving approximately 1.5" of wire protruding from the jacket.

6) Slide the connector onto the wires snugging it up to the jacket. Cat5e: Be sure to insert cable jacket beyond the primary strain latch to ensure twists are less than 1/2" from the point of termination. Cat6: Be sure to insert cable jacket all the way up and behind the contacts to assure twists are less than 3/16” from the point of termination.

7) Crimp and trim the connector in one EZ process with P/N 100054 or 100062C.
