MORNING Quantum Global

Good Morning & Welcome to Thursday's trading action at Dalal

Street, dated 25th April 2019.

Early action at SGX Nifty is suggesting that Dalal Street will struggle for

altitude on buy side in today's trade. But our call of the day suggests we are

probably flying above Nifty 12,000 in the next couple of weeks!

Aggressive traders from the bulls camp could take a breather after the

benchmarks Nifty & Sensex notched spectacular rebound in yesterday's

trade, but we suspect any downside likely to be limited as the positive

catalysts working in favor of bulls are:

1.Hopes of normal monsoon: The latest South Asian Climate Outlook

Forum on Tuesday predicted a normal monsoon in most parts of India

barring the west coast peninsular, including parts of the state and

northern parts of central India.

2.Earnings above street's expectations: Most of the Q4

corporate earnings which have trickled in are above street's

expectations. This fuels hopes that the much-awaited earnings

recovery will follow this quarter.

3.FIIs in buying mode: As per Wednesday’s Provisional Data available

on the NSE, FII’s bought shares worth Rs. 975 crores. In this April

month FIIs have bought to the tune of 8920 crores.

4.Wall Street at record highs.

5.WTI Crude oil prices are fractionally lower at $66.26 per barrel.

The slight pullback in WTI prices comes after the American Petroleum

Institute late Tuesday reported a gain of almost 7 million barrels in

inventories last week, more than five times the expected increase.

6.Reports that the U.S. trade representatives will lead a U.S.

delegation to China next week to resume trade negotiations.

The negotiations will begin April 30 in Beijing.

The street is anticipating that the ongoing trade talks are in final stages, and

if the said deal is reached, then a signing ceremony could be held in late May

or early June, ending the yearlong tariff war between the world's two largest

economies.

Long story short: Buying on dips should continue to be the preferred

strategy. Happy Days Are Here Again. Make Hay While The Sun Shines.

Before we end just a note of caution that volatility likely to be the hallmark of

today's trade as April derivative contracts expire.

Outlook for Thursday: Nifty likely to consolidate.

Technical Strategybelow the dotted lines. Investors will await signs of progress on trade and

fresh catalysts to extend a global rally.

The good news for bulls’ camp continues to be the renewed optimism on

backdrop of reports that growth is stabilizing in China, amidst another round

of macroeconomic stimulus, easing fears of a hard landing. And then hopes

continue for the United States and China may soon reach a deal to prevent

the ongoing trade war from escalating further.

Now, taking center stage in the next twoee trading sessions will be an

extremely crowded earnings schedule:

• Thursday: BIOCON, MARUTI, MCX, NESTLE INDIA.

• Friday: AXIS BANK, HERO MOTO CORP, YES BANK.

The other key catalysts dominating attention would be:

other hand, sold shares worth Rs. 657.06 crores in the Indian Equity market.

• As per option data, key resistance level for the April series for Nifty are at 11,800 strike price as maximum call open

interest of 27.11 lakh contract were seen at the 11,800 strike price followed 12,000 strikes. Key support level for the

December series is at 11,500 as Maximum Put open interest of 27.40 lakh contracts were seen at the 11,500 strike price.

GLOBAL CUES:

• Wall Street was seen struggling in yesterday's trade as all the three indices posted slight losses. In Tuesday's trade, the

S&P 500 had surpassed its all-time closing level of 2,930.75, set on Sept. 20 of last year, while the Dow and the Nasdaq

remain less than 1% below their best closing levels.

Investors continued to monitor trade talks between the U.S. and China which are reportedly in the final stretch.

Meanwhile, Yields on 10-year bonds have gained considerably since their inversion 25-days back. The yield on the 10-

year Treasury jumped to more than 2.5% in an indication of investor optimism about stocks.

• EU leaders’ move to grant the U.K. a delay to Brexit until Oct 31, 2019.

POLITICAL CUES:

• Sentiments could turn volatile ahead of National elections which has started to take centre stage. The much awaited

event, the general elections began with first phase on April 11. Well, stocks could cool if poll fever heats up. The seven-

phase election is being across the country from 11 April to 19 May and results will be announced on 23 May.

• The street is quite optimistic that Narendra Modi-led government will come back to power after the general elections

2019. Optimists appear to be betting that Modi’s re-election will boost investment activity in sectors such as construction

and infrastructure.

MACRO CUES:

• The Bank of Japan (BoJ) will announce interest rate decision on Thursday. As per Reuters, the BOJ is widely expected to

maintain its pledge to guide short-term rates at minus 0.1 per cent and long-term yields around zero under a policy

dubbed yield curve control. It is also expected to forecast that inflation will remain below its target through the fiscal

year that ends in March 2022.

COMMODITY CUES:

• GOLD ($1278): Support now seen 1271-1275 zone. Major intermonth hurdles now seen at 1368. Interweek Strategy:

close at 69.87.

WHAT TECHNICALS TELLS US ON NIFTY:

• In yesterday's trade, the benchmarks witnessed spectacular rebound as the benchmark indices snapped its 3-day losing

streak. The Sensex settled above the psychological 39,000 level. The Nifty settled above the 11,700 mark.

• Nifty continues to trade way above its 21 DMA & 200 DMA placed at 11603 & 10989 mark respectively.

• The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market was seen recovering. The BSE Mid-Cap index inched up

0.43%. The BSE Small-Cap index rose 0.42%.

• Technically speaking, medium term supports on Nifty are placed at 11311 zone. Only on any move below 11,311 will the

technical conditions deteriorate with aggressive targets at 10,901 mark.

• Intraday support seen at 11601 and then at 11519 mark.

• Intraday hurdles are at 11789 and then major hurdles seen at 11857 zone.

• The medium term price action for Nifty is suggesting that we are likely to see a 11451-11,901 range in

near term with neutral bias.

Bulls Vs. Bears: Time to Pick a Side!!

Nifty likely to consolidate:

Preferred trade on Nifty (11726): Buy between 11689-11701 zone. Targets 11789/11857. Stop 11601.
