We have Marc Wilaby with us today. Marc has many years experience in the tanning salon industry as a consultant, and in helping new Salon Business Owner’s launch their salons. He also helps them stay competitive in a changing economic landscape. Marc is with us today; however, to explain to us how to lose literally inches of fat from your waistline and thighs by utilizing what is called cool light from Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s).

It’s an amazing technology that is relatively new and continues to gain mainstream acceptance on both the commercial side for use in medical aesthetic & dermatology clinics, and on the consumer side, as a preferred method of body contouring.

Jeremy: Welcome Marc. I’m curious, How did you first learn about this technology?

Marc: Thank you for having me. As you mentioned, I've been working in the tanning and spa industries for more than 30 years and in that time, I have experienced many new and innovative devices using both lasers and LEDs.

I discovered that most Laser-based systems are complicated and costly to maintain. They require precise calibration, tons of research, and years of costly clinical trials so they don't burn the skin or harm the patient. Think of tattoo removal, hair removal, and laser scalpels for example. There are also many other types. These units sell for $30,000 to over $100,000.

Lasers and LEDs are both considered diodes but laser energy is highly focused and hot, while LEDs are low energy and the light is cast over a wider area. LEDs are also called cold lasers.

Many skin treatment systems also use LEDs because the energy is more suitable than lasers and the risk of use is almost non-existent. Plus you don't need to be a doctor to operate them and many don't need to go through costly clinical trials.

The term LLLT (Low Level Light Therapy) refers to LED based treatments. They employ light in many spectrums but mostly in the Red, Green, Yellow and Blue spectrums for treating acne, wrinkles, age spots, and other skin conditions.

LEDs produce specific wavelengths of light targeting specific results. Research has determined the body responds differently to different types of light. For example, the wavelength of light

Page 3: We have Marc Wilaby with us today. Marc has€¦ · I discovered that most Laser-based systems are complicated and costly to maintain. They require precise calibration, tons of research,

3

used to treat acne is 417 nanometers and is different from the wavelength to treat wrinkles which is 570 nanometers and red light for pain therapy is 700 nanometers to 1400 nanometers. I became aware of, and started distributing to my spa clients, an LED based slimming system. It sells for $26,000. After learning more about it, I realized that I could design and manufacture one for home use that has all the same components but for a much less cost per unit.

Low Level Laser Light Therapy

Because more and more of the global population has an interest in inch and weight loss, and because med spa costs seem to be rising year after year and insurance does not cover such treatments unless it involves a life-threatening condition, the only way to offer this treatment to more of the world's population is to reduce the cost. That is what started me down this path. Jeremy: It truly is amazing technology. I know there have been several recently published scientific studies on the effectiveness of LLLT for body contouring. It is now a widely accepted method for inch loss by Doctors offering body contouring and aesthetic procedures to their patients. What are the typical results people can expect? Marc: Yes, there have been several studies demonstrating the effectiveness of the technology for inch loss. One study I just read, shows that the average inch loss over a 6 week period was between 4.5 and 5.4 inches. This means that in total, the thighs, hips, waist, and upper abdomen reduced a total of 4.5 to 5.4 inches. The treatment schedule was 30 minute treatments twice a week for 6 weeks. Other studies show 5.17 inch loss and other results centering around 5 inches. Results vary between study groups and between individuals within each group because not all studies are conducted in the same manner. Some focus only on the system while others introduce a diet and exercise element as well.

Jeremy: How does this LED technology work? Marc: The system works through exposing your skin to light which penetrates your skin only a few inches. That light energy then triggers a reaction with your fat cells. This reaction causes the fat cells to collapse and the contents of your fat cells get spilled into your tissue’s where your lymphatic system helps remove it. The lymphatic system consists of millions of cells that act like little vacuum cleaners that take out the debris. That is a byproduct of burning fuel. Your mitochondria burns the fuel and the lymphatic system removes the junk that cannot be otherwise used. This residue is like the ash from burning a piece of paper. The fat cells, AKA adipose tissue, cannot resist the action and during each treatment, layer by layer of fat cells are collapsed. Think of a plump grape....now think of a raisin. That is the concept.

Studies have shown that within a few minutes of absorbing the light energy, a reaction occurs where 99% of the fat cell contents are spilled out and the fat cell collapses. If the fat cell loses size, your body looses size.

The stored fat becomes liquid and is released into your tissue. Your lymphatic system cleans up some of it, your metabolism cleans up some of it, and your body absorbs some of it. These are the elimination pathways your body normally uses to get rid of toxins, impurities, and other by products of your metabolism. The trick to using the Home Lipo Laser System is to use is often and regular. The result is you lose inches or fractions of an inch after each treatment or soon thereafter.

The Home Lipo Laser system triggers the same cell function as dieting does but without the dieting part. When you deprive your body from food, it gets energy from several places including your fat cells. The same action to collapse the fat cells occur naturally but to a lesser degree when you limit the intake of food or you increase the need for energy through exercise. But studies show the collapse associated with this type of light exposure is 99% within just a few minutes.

How the system works

Jeremy: How many treatments do you suggest?

Marc: We suggest you do 2-3 treatments per week or more for 2-3 weeks then suspend treatments for a week or so giving your body time to consume or eliminate the free fatty acids. It is difficult to suggest a precise plan because everyone is different and their metabolism deals with things differently. We also suggest experimenting with the treatment and rest schedules to find what is best for you.

Jeremy: Can you tell us more about the Home Lipo Laser system you have developed and how it compares to the type of devices that are used by medical practitioners?

Marc: Sure, the Home Lipo Laser is smaller and more compact of course than commercial units but it generates the same power and provides the same benefit. It uses the same LEDs. I sold a similar system to my Spa clients for commercial use and examined the technology to see where I could trim costs and make the same technology more affordable. The main difference is that my device does not have all the bells and whistles of the commercial units. I incorporated only the basics of what is needed to have success and keep it affordable.

For example. the Home Lipo Laser system treats both thighs or both calves in one treatment, or both upper arms. The light panels clip together making one large flexible panel to treat your abdomen and sides, or your lower back, buttocks and outer thighs. Because it is a home unit, it can be used daily on different target areas of the body for about $0.01 worth of electricity. Compare that to the $250-$500 per treatment cost that med spas charge and you can begin to realize the cost savings in owning your own. LEDs have a stated lifespan of 50,000 to 100,000 hours. Different manufacturers quote different ratings. CNET says the LED's in your TV will last between 60,000 and 100,000 hours. If we use 50,000 hours for example, and each treatment is 20 minutes, that translates into 150,000 treatments.

Considering the initial purchase price spread over the life of the system plus the per session electrical cost of operation, the cost per session is only $0.02. Jeremy: That is very inexpensive inch loss. Marc: Yes, considering that med spas charge $2000-$3000 for 6-10 treatments, the savings are substantial. In fact these costs put treatments out of reach for much of the world's population. Here is another way to look at it is this. If you charged your friends just $10 per session, you could earn $500,000 before the first LED burned out and if you had this system at home instead of paying $200 each for 150,000 treatments, you would save over $30 million.

Jeremy: And who would not want to save 30 million dollars! Besides those who would like to save 30 million dollars, who would be considered a good candidate to use this device at home?

Marc: Good question: Ask yourself this:

Do you have the ability to lose weight through diet and exercise. If you really put your mind to it, and restricted some calories and exercised a little more can your body lose weight?

Do you have regular bowel movements? If so, you can more easily excrete the excess fat liberated by each treatment. If you don’t move your bowels daily some of that liberated fat may be re-absorbed as fat.

Do you have reasonable expectations? People who want to lose 30-plus pounds quickly and anyone with an eating disorder should consider other treatment options like liposuction or gastric bypass.

If you answer yes, that’s a good indication that you’ll lose fat with the Home Lipo Laser system.

Jeremy: Any precautions?

The only precautions are people who are pregnant or think they might be pregnant should not use this system. Nor should anyone with diabetes or thyroid disorders where your metabolic system is potentially impaired or anyone with cancer or who has had cancer but is in remission for less than a year. If you have a pacemaker, this treatment may not be for you. There are no known detrimental risks but potential unknown risks may exist. The treatment should also only be started after menstruations are over as the LLLT treatment is less efficient during the menstrual period. People who have liver disorders, kidney or intestine problems will also see less significant results as the fat will have a more difficult time to exit the body.

Jeremy: What will be the keys to success in using this? Consistency? Using it as part of an overall wellness program to maximize results?

Well, the system works to collapse the fat cells every time during every treatment but how effective your body eliminates these free fatty acids depends on your diet and general state of health. There are 10 things I recommend to improve your results and I have these listed in a handbook that buyers receive with their purchase.

Loose Fat & Inches

Hydrate – Drink 100 fl. oz. of water each day (3 liters), with no more than 25 ounces in an hour. The released body fat needs to exit the body via the kidneys.

Walk (Exercise) – Maintain your regular workout routine. If you do not workout, walk at least 10 minutes each day. We need exercise to stimulate the lymphatic system in order to help remove the fat through normal detox.

Niacin – Regular Niacin (not flush-free or time released niacin). it helps your body convert food to energy. However, avoid getting too much, because niacin is an appetite stimulant.

Eliminate Alcohol completely. This allows your kidneys, liver and lymphatic systems to quickly purge the excess body fat.

Milk Thistle – 200 mg of milk thistle on a daily basis will help detox the liver helping the liver maximize the ultimate removal of the newly released emulsified fats and triglycerides.

No Caffeine – Caffeine causes dehydration which will inhibit elimination. If you do drink coffee, we ask that you add 2 additional ounces of water for each ounce of caffeinated beverage drink

Reduce Fat Intake You’ll achieve best results by following a low fat diet during and after treatment. Each treatment taxes your body to purge excess fat and eating more fat just complicates the process.

No Caffeine – Caffeine causes dehydration which will inhibit elimination. If you do drink coffee, we ask that you add 2 additional ounces of water for each ounce of caffeinated beverage drink

Watch for Constipation The released body fat needs to exit the body via bowel movements. Therefore, it is important to eat plenty of fiber so as to avoid constipation.

Lymphatic Massage & Dry Brushing – Help move the newly released fat from the interstitial space through the body and eventually leaving the body through urination and bowel movements.

It is important to keep in mind that the light is triggering a normal bodily function. Consider this: when you are dieting and are depriving your body of food. Your body gets energy from other places including your fat cells. When your energy stores have depleted, your body starts drawing on the stored fat cells for energy. This opens up a membrane around the fat cells and a portion of the contents are spilled into your system and your body consumes that as energy.

We are triggering the event of opening up the membrane around the fat cell and then you will create the demand to eliminate it from your body.

Jeremy:: Great advice. It can certainly get expensive and time consuming for people that need to go the Med Spa for multiple weight loss treatments. I can see how having a unit at home will eliminate that need to schedule weeks in advance and then fight traffic getting to the appointment on time.

Marc: Absolutely. People will love the convenience of this and not having the fear of spending $3,000 and then noticing that you look good for a few weeks only to gain it all back again. This makes sense since the same people have likely struggled with dieting with much the same rebounding results. The convenience of being able to get treatments at home while you watch TV or check Facebook is impossible to duplicate. No drive time, no traffic, and it doesn't take 45-60 minutes out or you're otherwise busy day. You can provide the entire family with treatments! If you use the system 20 times a week, you could provide your entire family with treatments for approximately 144 years before the LED's would burn out. By having a Home Lipo Laser system at home, your initial cost outlay at $1995 is about what 6-10 treatments would cost at the spa and from then on your pay $0.01 per treatment in electrical costs.

Jeremy: Is it a long-term solution? Yes and maybe. Yes because it provides you with an achievable method for losing inches without starving yourself or killing yourself at the gym. If you follow the plan outlined in the handbook you will achieve inch and weight loss up to a certain point without a serious modification of your lifestyle. Your goal might be to lose 1 or 2 pant or dress sizes in which case the Home Lipo Laser system can help by short-circuiting the spilling of stored fat and the collapse of fat cells leaving it entirely up to your body's metabolism to use or eliminate the free fatty acids. The goals thereby achieved, will satisfy most of the users. In fact, one study I read demonstrated an 81% satisfaction rate.

The cool thing about having a system at home is that you can suspend or restart treatments at will and more tightly control inch and weight gain. If your goal extends beyond that which you can achieve in a few short weeks or months, then maybe it is a long term solution but with some lifestyle changes.

Jeremy: How quickly can consumers expect to see the results of treatment?

Usually within the treatment period. Keep in mind you should use it 2-3 or more times each week for 2-3 weeks then rest for a week or more but still keep doing the items listed on the 10 things to help you succeed list. You should see results by the end of your first 30 days of use or less. Also remember to take and record accurate measurements before and after each treatment and we have included a Score Card in the handbook for your use. Jeremy: How is the effectiveness measured?

Using a tailor's tape, you know...the fabric measuring tape used by garment makers, and measure the girth of the areas you plan to treat. Either measure yourself or have the same helper measure you in a consistent manner. Record your measurements both before and after each treatment until your goal is achieved. We have a chart in the handbook to keep track of your results.

Jeremy: What about recovery time?

Marc: There is no recovery period and there are no negative side effects. No tissue or cells are destroyed.

Jeremy: How does this compare to other methods like freezing the fat cells or Laser Liposuction?

Marc: There are some spa treatments that freeze the fat cells and destroy the fat cells and in the process, the blood supply to them. The long term consequences of this have not been studied. They do seem effective but there can also be some minor discomfort and bruising after the treatment. The reason there is no discomfort with the Home LIpo Laser System is that there is no heat generated to damage the skin. The “Cool Light” technology simply triggers a natural event in the body similar to how exercise triggers the fat cell membrane to collapse.

Liposuction breaks up and sucks fat from the body. It is an invasive surgical procedure that removes a lot of fat in one procedure. There will be pain, swelling, and bruising. There can also be permanent color changes in the skin, uneven skin surface over the treated area, and damage to the nerves and skin. The heat generated during ultrasound-assisted liposuction may burn the skin or damage the tissue under the skin. Laser lipolysis uses heat from fiber-optic cannula inserted into your body that use lasers at various wavelengths to melt body fat. Then the doctor either allows your body to metabolize the melted fat or uses ‘aspiration’, a form of suction that removes greater quantities of fat. Laser lipolysis is only recommended for the removal of up to 500mls of fat, so you may need liposuction to remove larger quantities of fat. Jeremy: Interesting. Is there anything else you would like us to know about this device before we conclude our interview? Where can people purchase the device? Marc: I would just like to add that owning a Home Lipo Laser system is a cheaper, non-invasive, risk-free way for the entire family to lose inches, fat, and weight. For less than 6-10 med spa treatments you and your entire family can enjoy inch loss treatments for many, many years to come.
