Republic is a form of government in which the people or some portıon thereof retain supreme control over the government and in which the head of government is not monarch.

After the Ottoman Empire collapsed, following its defeat in World War I , parts of its were occupied by victorious Allies.A group of young military officers, led by Mustafa Kemal , organized a successful resistance to the allies; in 1923, they’ve established the modern Republic of Turkey.

The new Turkey’s ideology stress the republican form of government representing the power of electorate, secular administration, nationalism, mixed economy with state participation in many of the vital sectors and modernization.Atatürkism intoduced to Turkey the process of parliamentary and participatory democracy.

Every year state ceremonies are organized on 29th of October.

There are some shows in stadiums.

AT SCHOOLS,

Students dance, they read poems,

they organize some competitions, they decorate the classrooms…

Everywhere is red and white with Turkish flags.
