We will be very busy these last couple of weeks with activities in the room as well as those extra end-of- the-year events. Let’s make these last couple of weeks really count! Next week our focus will be: Topic—Work and Play—We are tying this into our field trips around the community. New Word—review Math—review Reading—reviewing letters, sounds, and sight words and using these skills in our reading and writing Handwriting—review Reminders -- The last day for the Home/School Reading Program (baggie books) is Friday, May 20 th . We will be collecting books next week. Kindermart Thank you for all of the donations for our Kindermart Grocery area in Home Practice Ideas for May --Please read with and to your child everyday. --Have your child name the coins in your pocket or wallet. --Practice counting to 100 by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s. --Identify random numbers to 100. --Use the list of sight words in writing short notes to your child. --Give your child short spelling “tests” from the list of sight words and short 3 letter words. --Use the sight word cards in making sentences or games. --Read stories with your child and have your child retell it to you. Important Dates May 18 Field trip to Sunset Hill Farm May 20 Show & Tell— Share about a chore/job done at home and an object that helps you do it. Example: dog bowl, dust cloth, sponge, dish towel, garbage bag . . . May 20 Pancake Cookoff! May 24 Field Day (Rain date We let our butterflies go!

We Are Learning!We will be very busy these last couple of weeks with activities in the room as well as those extra end-of-the-year events. Reminders-- The last day for the Home/School Reading Program (baggie books) is Friday, May 20th. We will be collecting books next week.--Flip flops should not be worn at recess. Gym shoes are best for the playground.
