NYC Housing Connect is New Yorkers’ portal to find and apply for affordable housing opportunities across the five boroughs of New York City.

What is affordable housing and who qualifies?

Housing is considered affordable if it costs about one-third or less of your household income.

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) create affordable housing opportunities for many household income levels and sizes. Your household may qualify based on your income and household size. If you have little or no income, you may qualify if you have a voucher that can cover your rent.

If you have a disability, are a senior, or live in a borough or community board where there’s affordable housing, you may have preference for some affordable units.
