Dear Friends in Christ at King of Glory,
Blessed Easter! What a great Easter day it was for King of Glory. We heard the resurrection message. We sang the resurrection hymns. We received Christ’s gift in the Lord’s Supper. The special music
was fantastic. It resurrected hope in our hearts.
As Senior Pastor, I want to thank all those who helped make this Easter so special. As you can imagine, there were so many people who put forth great effort so that Easter could happen at KOG.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
We can be thankful to God, too. The Easter Word of what God has done sets us free to live our lives in light of the resurrection. We are free to serve, to give, to use our talents and abilities to show God’s
love in Christ Jesus to all.
The Easter season lasts seven Sundays. It’s the season where we hear the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, and teaching them the faith that is ours.
It is an exciting season. May it be a season of renewal and new life for you—joyfully lived out in response to that marvelous Easter
Word! So, spread the Good News!
Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
God bless you and keep you in His Grace!
Pastor James A. Darchuk

Now that winter is behind us (hopefully), can we talk
about Thanksgiving? Not in the sense of turkey,
cranberry sauce and football but, rather, in the sense
of giving thanks for what Jesus did for us at Easter.
This Easter season reminds us that all of the greatest
gifts we are given come from God. This season,
which I would like to call “Eastergiving” invites us to
take a good look at the time, talent, and treasure that
has been given to us as we search for ways to use
these gifts wisely.
The Eastergiving season reveals to us that God has
given us time, talent and treasure to be held in a
Dear KOG Family,
It was great to be back for Holy Week and it is always to wonderful to worship at KOG when I am back in
Billings. Thanks you so very much for the all the support both financially and for the prayers as well. Seminary
s&ll con&nues to go well and keeps me plenty busy between homework and hanging out with friends and I
s&ll loving it. Here is a bit more about Theological Educa&on Date of presenta&on: Sunday, June 8th following
the 9:30 a.m. service
Why would a congregaon care to support it?
When congrega&ons support seminary students they are helping with the forma&on of future leaders by not
only suppor&ng the students but also the future of the church. Every student ma.ers and every li.le bit of
financial support helps.
• ELCA seminaries send out Seminary graduates to lead congrega&ons and other ministries to grow with
faithful, wise and courageous leaders.
Peace,
Andrea Keene
1st year MA Diaconal
Trust which we manage with Jesus Christ at the cen-
ter. The Trust includes all the material we will need
to create community; to heal what is broken and to
bring hope where there is despair. For this Trust, we
should thank God because it shows that God has
placed confidence in us to do what is right for the
world. To that end, consider Romans 12: "Do not
be conformed to the world but rather transformed by
the renewing of your minds that you may know what
it is good and acceptable and perfect."

3 Colossians Bible Study
Thursday Mornings 9:30 am OR Thursday Evenings 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room.
Saint Paul’s letter to the church in Colossi invites readers to consider life from the perspective of a Sovereign
Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 1:15-20 15 ¶ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether
thrones or dominions or rulers or powers-- all things have been created through him and for
him. 17 He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 He is the head of
the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to
have first place in everything. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and
through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven,
by making peace through the blood of his cross.
What does this mean for us today? Come, Ponder, and Discover – All are invited to participate.

NEW Retirement Milestone will be celebrated on May 18th!
Unless you've been hiding under a rock (or a stone, ha ha), you know that one of the ways KOG marks important moments in our life together is with our Milestones Ministry. We are excited to announce that we will be celebrating our 1st Milestone for Adults very soon! On Sunday, May 18th at both services, we will recognize those among us who have recently retired (in the last year) or will be retiring in the next six months. If you meet those criteria, we invite you to worship with us on this day and participate in the Retirement Milestone, which includes a time of blessing. Contact Pr. Jen with ques-tions.

On Sunday, May 18th following our 10:30 a.m. service, join us for a meal and
festivities to honor Lorie Hughes and Deb Peters for their many years of
service in our Christian Education and Music Ministries at King of Glory. A
ham, bread, dessert and drinks will be provided. Please bring a side dish or
salad to share. If you would be available to help with table decorations,
serving or clean up, please contact Maggie Hale at 406-698-1694.
We will honor our graduating high
school seniors within the 10:30 a.m.
worship service on May 11th. A cake
reception will follow the service in
the Commons.
New Piano Fund
A piano fund has been established because our current piano (which is now residing in the
Commons) is worn out and needs to be replaced by a piano similar to the loaner piano currently in the worship area. If you are interested in contributing to the piano fund, please drop a
check in the offering plate or mail and put “piano
fund” on the memo line.
Current amount in the piano fund: $26,210
The Memorial Committee has made a $5,000
donation to the piano fund and challenges the
congregation to give what it can to reach the
goal of $60,000 for a new piano.

April 28, 2014 Dear friends in Christ at King of Glory, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the privilege and joy of serving as the Christian Education Coordinator here at King of Glory. I began this journey as I turned 50 as the volunteer Sunday school superintendent for the 2004-2005 school year. Then I joined the King of Glory staff as the Christian Edu-cation Coordinator in August of 2005. Now I’m completing this particular journey as I turn 60. It’s been a wonderful decade of learning and growing in faith. As I retire, fin-ishing my ninth school year in this staff position, I’d like to share some reflections with you. First, our Christian education ministries would not happen without the work of so many volunteers. Many are recognized on the previous page. I thank each and every one of you as well as those who have served in our LOGOS, Vacation Bible School, and baptism and cradle roll ministries (included in previous newsletters). I also thank the KOG Board of Directors for their service and dedication, especially Beth Adam, the Christian education representative. Each volunteer makes a huge difference in the lives of our children. I am thankful to be part of a congregation that makes intentional Christian nurturing of children and youth a priority. I have loved getting to know the wonderful families and individuals of this King of Glory family. It’s been a treat to watch the kids grow through the years. Thank you for sharing your lives with me. I encourage all KOG people to reach out and get to know our awesome families. The relationships we build help our faith grow and bless all involved. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with such a dedicated and extraordinary church staff over the years. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to work. I have been blessed with caring and visionary pastors and exceptional staff members who have supported and encouraged me. It has been a joy to work with all of them. I have learned how very important parents are for their children’s faith development. I encourage parents to put faith at the center of their family’s daily life. Our children truly look to us to show them the way. What is important (or not) to parents will be important (or not) to the children. It is vital that we take very seriously the promises that we make at each child’s baptism as parents and congregation. All of our Christian education ministries help support and reinforce those baptismal promises. I am honored to be part of a church that partners with parents for each child’s faith journey. I am thankful for the wonderful parents and grandparents who are diligently passing on the faith to the children. Further, my work here has reinforced for me the importance of worship. It is the foundation of what we do as Christians. All generations have gifts to share in worship. We best experience being the Body of Christ when all ages are present. It can be a challenge to include our children in worship, but it is so essential that we do so. I invite all adults to greet the families around you in worship, get to know their names, encourage them as they seek to teach their children about worship. We are all one family in Christ. Thank you very much for your support and prayers over the years. This ministry has blessed me in countless ways. I thank God for giving me this opportunity to serve. I look forward to the next chapter of my life with time to pursue interests and travel. I also look forward to continuing to serve here at KOG in other capacities in the years ahead.
With deep gratitude and love,
Lorie Hughes
