CARE Ministry

During the month of October we continue this current important series on The Cross, with a focus on such life-changing topics as reconciliation, justification and salvation. In addition, we also have as our guest speaker on Sunday 21 October, Dr Vee Tetseo, founder and director of Live to Worship Ministries International, a ministry which helps churches in Asia in worship, music and leadership. Then, on Sunday 28 October at 5.30pm, we will be screening the movie “Paul, Apostle of Christ” — a powerful account of the challenges faced by the early church, providing deep insight into the person and character of Paul. We hope you can join us for this free event, and that you will be blessed by the ministry of the Word through this month of October. – Nick Scott

BIRTH – congratulations to:Sarah and Elliot Stone on the birth of their daughter Lacey Mae, born on 22 September.

If you have items of family news that you would like

included in this section in future months, please forward details

to the Church office.

Welcome to Dan and Anna

It was great to hear Dan and Anna’s story and to officially welcome them and little Sebastian into our MPBC family at the commissioning service on Sunday 23 September.

Please continue to make Dan, Anna and Sebastian feel welcome and keep them in prayer as they settle into life here at MPBC.

Launchpad 2018 was a fun event enjoyed by all who attended. It was a great example of family-friendly entertainment provided by our College students who were joined by musicians from North Lake Senior Campus.

A large audience of family members and supporters saw short films, heard songs from many different musical genres, and appreciated the media students’ work. Of course, the whole evening was able to be seen and heard because of the efforts of the sound production students who worked hard to keep the show rolling.

Many people from the audience expressed appreciation for quality of the displays and performances on the night. If you were not able to attend this year’s Launchpad event, we encourage you to keep watch for next year’s – it promises to be even better!

Essence Movie Night

After the great celebration of three years at Cooby, we want to thank God once again for all He has done. The work and ministry with Cooby Cares is going well and we are excited about the privilege of serving those in Coolbellup.

After much prayer, the application for the Cooby Christmas Carols in Hargreaves Park has been approved. Last year we had the first one in the park and there was much great feedback from the 250 people that attended. This year, the approval is for 400 people! So, save this date of Saturday 15 December for Cooby Carols. We would love you to join our Cooby choir — sign up at the Info Point or email [email protected] — otherwise, come and join us for the sing-along in the park on 15 December.

To God be the glory, great things He has done. – Peter Christofides

Orchestra

Operation Christmas Child

ChoirIf you play musical instruments such as Violin, Viola, Trombone, Trumpet, Flute, Saxophone, French Horn, Cello or Double Bass, we would love you to join our church orchestra for our big Christmas services. The only requirement is for you to be at least grade 3 level in your particular instrument. If you are interested, please email Jonathan Anthony as soon as possible: [email protected]

The last day for collection of shoeboxes at our church is Sunday 21 October. If you have more than 50 boxes, please deliver your boxes directly to the warehouse: 4/408 Scarborough Beach Road, Osborne Park. This is also the address for any boxes to be delivered after Sunday 21 October.

There is nothing more glorious than hearing voices singing four-part harmony. We have been blessed in the past years to have our faithful people who are so committed to sing in our choir. However, this year we would like to see more people from different age groups being represented. If you are eight or eighty – we would love to have you. To sign up, please email Jonathan Anthony: [email protected]
